I found out about 2 days ago from an employee that there will be a Rock Band demo. From the picture I saw it looks like they are using the drums as the showcase.

Nice, I hope this is true! Surprising that it's so early before the release though. I thought they usually demo stuff in stores more like a 1 week or so before release.

If true, I wonder how they plan to arrange it so that the sticks don't get lost/stolen.

Probably have to get them at the Electronics counter. Or maybe a tracking device that explodes upon leaving the store! :D

That's awesome, I'll definately be finding my way to a wal-mart around then, and probably hog the drums the entire day!

They'll probably tie them to the set somehow; kind of like how they keep the DS stylus from being stolen. Also, I cannot freaking spell today.

I tried playing a drumscape at King's Island that had the drumsticks tied to the machine, but the ropes were too short. If they do that at wal*mart, I'll bring my own damn sticks. For real. I ain't fkkn around.

Those poor drumsets will be smashed the first day, once some stained muscle shirt wearin', turkey leg eatin', cowboy boot wearin' hillbillies get ahold of it. Of course, it won't matter, since Walmart keeps their 360s in tiny plastic cases, so they're all red-ringed anyway.

Also, I bet this is one of those cases where they might stick it out in the aisle to show it off. I just can't see a big ol' drum set sitting in the middle of the gaming section.

Awsome there are two super Walmart stores in my area I'm pretty sure one of them is bound to have it!! Now if I can only figure out a way to pry away the drum sticks from some 8 year old who for the last three hours has been banging away at the drum controller while his mom looks at every single clothing item in the store.....it has happened to me before with GHII....:p

My first Guitar Hero experience was War Pigs at a Best Buy, and that experience sold me on the game. I bet placing RB at Wal Marts will help with sales tremendously. I want to play!

I live in the South, I'm allowed to stereotype. Redneck = good, downhome, hardworking family guy. Hillbilly = dirty, welfare-sucking trash (think Jerry Springer show). Plus I see these people (locally we refer to them as "The Walmart People") every time I'm there, which unfortunately is becoming more frequent since they've driven everything else out of business.
Anyways, I'm surprised Microsoft doesn't ship some sort of ventilated display case for the 360 to retailers. All the big box stores around here (Walmart, Target, Best Buy, etc.) have them in tiny little plexiglass cases and the display model almost always has the RROD. Just what you want your potential buyer to see!

Our 360 is in this thick ass plastic case but we take the back off for that reason. It can cook something if it was closed.

I've been thinking about hooking up some sort of bread holder behind mine...instant toast!
