What do you think?
imo it's a little better graphically but that's about it.
battle mode is the only + i could find in the demo

I thought it was ok. I've only really played the single player on it. The face off and proface off also are the same, I have yet to try battle mode, I don't know how fun that will be.
I also am not a fan of getting kicked out of the demo after 5 songs.

The demo was okay, but WTF happened to Judy Nails? I mean they got rid of Pandora who I used as my avatar in GH, GHII, GHRT80s. I knew they where gonna screw it up. :mad: Oh well.

Playboy offered her a spot and gave her a makeover basically. Seriously though, I read she got mixed with pandora.

I posted my thoughts on it in the RB forum, but in summary...
The art is fugly. Characters are hideous, and no, boobie physics do not make everything okay again. (If anything I'd say they're pandering with that little bit of code, and it's sad and pathetic.) The whole thing just feels absolutely silly and stupid, like a juvenile gamer wet dream rather than a ROCK experience of ROCK awesomeness.
I blame Neversoft not actually being musicians for that. They haven't hit the road, haven't played gigs, they have no concept of what it feels like and can't convey that feeling other than to mimic how Guitar Hero 1/2 conveyed it.
Plus, like the Tony Hawk series, their idea of a sequel is "Same as before plus some extraneous feature bolted onto the side", namely, battle made. Battling worked well in Frequency and Amplitude, but it was designed around the concept from the start and was a pretty abstract game; it doesn't make sense here and isn't that fun once you get over the initial "Whee!" factor.
That said... it's still Guitar Hero. It's got music, you hit notes. If you like hitting notes and you like the music you can probably cringe your way through the nasty bits and get some fun out of it. Assuming you already own a guitar and like the setlist, I advise either picking the game up or waiting a few weeks and getting it used / discounted. Can't hurt to have more music to play.

After playing the GH3 demo and seeing RB in person at a tour stop, I can say overall the graphics and animations in RB are far better than GH3. Style preferences aside, the animations just seem smoother and less stiff in RB. It was especially noticable with the drummer animations.

Rock you like a hurricane
The Metal

But yea, I dislike the demo, and from what I read from people who played the real thing, it sucks just as bad :mad:

Is it really? I guess I kept counting wrong, or not paying attention to the number of times I played, thats even dumber, you can't even play each song in the demo once that way!

Most disappointing:
Bass is way too quiet. Can't even hear it, almost. Maybe just because I don't have subs on my system?
No bass quickplay, STILL!
Judy Nails: Rocker -> Prostitute
Napalm: Punk -> Rooster
The guy who stage-dives EVERY ****ING SONG!
Lack of good animations, and lots of miscues (singer still singing while mic 1 foot away from his humongous mouth)
I didn't get a chance to play this with a guitar, maybe I'll stop by a Best Buy to try it like that. Meh, I think I'll either wait until I play use it with a Strat, or just get it for PS2. Leaning toward PS2...

I enjoyed it and i will enjoy both GH3 and Rock Band. I hate having the dancing girls on stage. That is so dumb. Whoever came up with that idea is just ******ed.

I think its time based, and not song based.

I swear everytime I play 4 songs it kicks me out. I tested and hit quit before the end of the 4th one to pick a new song and it still kicked me.

Actually I think you're right McDeezy, I spent like an hour playing it, doing practice mode, playing the bass, doing multiplayer. But as soon as I played 4 songs in a row on regular Quickplay, it ends it at the scoring screen.

Number of threads started containing GH3 impressions: Infinity
Number of threads that will be started over the next 30 days: Infinity + 1
EDIT: Bah, it didn't like the alt 236 infinity sign...

Why are people complaining about the graphics? You can't look at the animations while you're playing. I found all the songs pretty awesome personally, and battle mode exceeded my expectations.

I finally had a friend over to try out the battle mode and thought that it was amazing. it was a lot of fun hitting him with all the different attacks. The hardest to fend off is probably the left flip. Either way, i think its a great addition. Does anyone know if you can save them up and pick and chose which ones to use at certain times?

Actually, I look at the graphics all the time. I internalize the notecharts that I like, and I like to look during the instrumental breaks. That's hardly my biggest problem with the game, though.

I don't like it and it does feel that Neversoft screwed it up. I never thought I would say this but if the game isn't like the others and Rockband is even half of what I'm thinking, I'm giving up GH for RB. I'm stilling getting the game to give the whole version a chance (it is only a hundred bucks) but it might be the last.

Go to Practice and then choose Bass. Same way you do in GH2
