My assistant manager told me that Rock Band's second album for download would be Weezer's Blue Album? I never seen anything like this but I mean since Say It Ain't So is one of the game songs, I don't see this as being far fetched. Any word?

I would take that as pure speculation. I don't think there has been even any rumors about that. At least I can't remember reading any. The only other rumored/basically confirmed album that is coming to DLC is Nirvana - Nevermind.

If there was a Weazer album DLC, I would probably choose Pinkerton over the Blue Album personally, but either would be good. I don't think it is too farfetched to think that it will be DLC though.

Pinkerton would be a wonderful album to play. Weezer doesn't exist in my mind past that album.

I Love the blue Album!! brings a lot of great memories from my university years, it would be great to have it as DLC. :)

This made me put the Blue Album on again. I haven't listened to it in a while and forgot how much it still rocks, even though my music tastes have shifted quite a bit since I was into Weezer some 8 years ago or so.

I'm sorry, I'd take the Green album. :)

Although... I would honestly take any WEEZER.

Green album was really really good. Hash pipe (altough played out by now) would be great in the game.

Ugh, Green album is what killed the band to me. Every song stuck to the exact same structure and were all uninspired. I have yet to hear anything good from them ever since Pinkerton.

I think I'm actually leaning towards 'best of' sets more than albums these days, as there are usually songs from more than one album I would love to play, and often some songs on an album that wouldn't really fit. Just as an example, I would love Siamese Dream by the pumpkins, but does that decrease the chance of getting songs off any other CD? And Disarm with it's Violin would be out of place.

So just thinking that a Weezer 'Bundle' might be cool too. Sort of the Grateful Dead approach.

Even though I wouldn't listen to their later albums for pleasure, I bet they'd still be pretty fun to play.

I'm clearly in the minority of Weezer fans. I have each of their albums, bought on release day, see them in concert whenever they come around, and I don't really Pinkerton. Different strokes, I guess.

i speculated that the blue album could be DLC when i first joined this site. it's probably buried in setlist forum somewhere. i liked pinkerton, especially pink triangle, but not as much as the blue album. i think their newest album that they are recording is supposed to go back to their sound from the pinkerton days.
the blue album was one of those few CDs you could actually enjoy from start to finish. i hate when you buy an album and theres only like a couple songs that are great with a track or two in between that totally hurt your ears and just fill time on the CD.
i wont believe it till i see it, but i hope it's true.
i would love to play only in dreams...

This would easily be a top 5 album download choice for me... Every song on that album is great, plus I still have it all memorized so I could sing and play guitar at the same time to it.

I love Pinkerton too, but the Blue Album would appeal to a much wider audience. BTW, I totally agree about "Only In Dreams". The guitar solo at the end would be phenominal. That's it... I must listen to it now! :)

it's also actually one of the songs that made me wish i knew how to play drums. the instrumentals in that song are just nerve tickling.

It should be noted (if it hasn't yet) that the majority of announced albums thus far feature tracks on disc.

All one of them?

No but Who's Next and the (rumored) Black Album as well as the (rumored but probably way more likely) Nevermind album. All three have songs from the on disc track (Who's Next - Won't Get Fooled Again, The Back Album - Enter Sandman, Nevermind - In Bloom).

In fact the only ones I can think of that don't have a track from the game are not even albums at all. That's One by Metallica and the Grateful Dead songs.

I would love to sing My Name Is Jonas and Buddy Holly. And I rarely want to sing.

As good as Pinkerton is, the Blue Album has Rock Band all over it!

Doing the spoken word intro to Undone would be hilarious.

I actually had a conversation with some friends of mine a few weeks back about how perfect Blue would be for Rock Band. My Name is Jonas & Say It Aint So are already in GH3 and RB respectively, so licensing obviously isn't an issue... And songs like Only In Dreams. That would be EPIC to play for every instrument. Catchy lyrics, funky tight bassline, groovy beat, and INCREDIBLE guitar solo. Just thinking of it makes me have to listen to it.

I don't plan on overloading on DLC (I'm a poor student), but if this were DLC I'd pay any price.

Yeah, the more I listen to the Blue Album, the more I realize how perfect the whole thing would be for DLC.
