View Full Version : Hmmm..possibility for whole setlist announced today

Ok, I'm basically going to combine a few things we already know in this post because I noticed something in this blog.
http://community.rockband.com/index.php?do=/public/blog/view/id_567/

Notice he says the 70's setlist has 13 songs...well I went over everything known so far...and there are 12. Those being...

The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again
Mountain - Mississippi Queen
David Bowie - Suffragette City
Black Sabbath - Paranoid
Blue Oyster Cult - Don't Fear The Reaper
Ramones - Blitzkrieg Bop
Deep Purple - Highway Star
Boston - Foreplay/Long Time
Kiss - Detroit Rock City
Molly Hatchet - Flirtin' With Disaster
The Police - Next To You
The Outlaws - Green Grass And High Tides

So that's 12...basically telling us there is at least one more 70's song to be announced today. Now, I know that not every song from the 70's is awesome...but the chances of it being an awesome song are more likely than if it were any other decade. The 80's is close in my opinion. So there may be something good coming out of today's song announcement. :D

i doubt that they are going to announce EVERY song. Just like in GH they kept the encore songs a secret until you actually play them. I am sure they are going to announce all the main songs today, i hope.

Or Cream. Good to know we'll get at least one more 70s song. Maybe one more 60s song as well.

The Police - Next to you hasn't been Officially announced yet. So it may be announced today along with the other 70s song. Also, he does say "13" songs. He doesn't say "All 13 songs" to me this could mean there's more than 13 and you simply get to play 13 of them. This of course most likely means there are 13 70s tracks on the disc, and then any 70s song downloaded later (The Who Album, etc) will be included in that matter.

Especially since in the same blog he confirms that DLC can be used in Mystery Set Lits or Make you own set lists.

There has to be at least one 60s song announced at some point, I refuse to believe that they will only have 1 song from the 60s in the game!

I expect more modern stuff though for the most part, probably some Muse, Pearl Jam etc...

desyphur
10-26-2007, 03:10 AM
Some Bohemian Rhapsody would be awesome

I don't know why but I have a strong feeling for Pearl Jam to be announced today.

When asked about the lack of 'Modern' tracks in Rock Band CEO Alex Ripoglus (sp?) said that by the time the full set list was announced that the Modern tracks would equal or exceed that of all the other eras.

I don't remember the exact interview or have a link, but it was either the 40 minute GameSpot show or in a Podcast. Hopefully someone else to recall exactly.

So basically, I anticipate 1 60s, 2 70s (The Police - Next to You to be Officially confirmed) 1 80s 1 90s and 2 2000s. We'll see how close I am! :)

I think you're close...but I'm going to guess a tiny bit different. I'll say 2 60's 2 70's (One being Next To You) 2 80's and 1 90's. That's just wishful thinking though. :P

A beautiful list...although I'm one of those who think they'll be good songs, but not HUGE songs, would contain...

Zeppelin - Anything NOT Stairway
AC/DC - Long Way To the Top or For Those Who Want To Rock (We Salute You)
Pantera - Cemetary Gates
Maiden - Since they're going mainstream a lot of the way, I'll say Run to the Hills
Frank Zappa - Anything
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody

Sorry to turn this into a setlist request of sorts...it's more of a guess than anything though :P

EDIT: Nice, Ballroom Blitz, the original. Apparently all it takes is 70's speculation and then it gets announced. :P Ok...I'm thinking...Iron Maiden and Pantera will fill the metal void next. I wish. :P

AC/DC - Long Way To the Top or For Those Who Want To Rock (We Salute You)

You actually listed 2 songs there. :D There's "For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)" & "It's a Long way to the top if you want to Rock & Roll".

Big News I & II would be great!!

"AHEAD ONE THIRD!!!!
AHEAD TWO THIRDS!!!
FULL AHEAD FLANK,
AND OUT FROM THE BELLY OF THE WHALE CAME A PROPHET AMEN!!"

I'd absolutely shred my vocal chords on some Big News.

If I had my drothers (WTF are drothers anyways), if they were going to pick songs by my screen-namesake, I'd go with Smoke Banshee, Brazenhead, Shogun Named Marcus, Mice & Gods, or Drangonfly. Brazenhead would probably be the best. It's super funky.

Spacegrass would be sweet also. Side note...Spacegrass is the reason I have a plastic Jesus on my dashboard. And I am not religious by any means.

I'd love some Clutch.

or are they just going to post a story/article?

Close to you would'nt work that well for guitar. Why can't I be you is one of the Cure songs I like the least. Burn would be cool.

But still, I think fascination street would be the most awesome and perfect song for the game.
Actually, I want the whole Disintegration album for DLC. :p

Anyway, as long as it is the Cure I guess I will be happy.

Yeah, nothing says epic Rock Band experience quite like a song about a kid who shot himself in front of his class.

Actually, that's one of the few Pearl Jam songs I like. Half cause it's a good song, and half cause my name's Jeremy. :D
