Your fault for downloading it.
The release of the master has been up since last Thursday.

The master has a new solo, so it'll be slightly different.

What the first poster said. If you dl'ed it right before the announcement, I could understand your anger, but this was announced last week.

oh please harmonix give me something free because I bought something on my own free will and then decided I'd rather wait for an entirely different version that I've never heard before...

There are a lot of people that currently own the cover version and you will match up with them in online play. The two versions are not mutually exclusive.
If you could find the forums today, why couldn't you last week? ;)

Sorry, dude. The announcement was made a bit ago, so there's really no excuse. However, welcome to the boards. If you haven't been here for that long, than I understand your frustration.
But, they are also different versions. It's a great song, so I would download the new one too. :)

I'm not buying the same song, for the same game, twice - even for a master recording with a new solo and Neil on drums. How many rehashes is this gonna breed, I wonder?
Honestly I think the cover is pretty good and it is based around the familiar recorded version and classic solo. I haven't heard the alternate version but there isn't any guarantee it will have as fun or epic of a solo, or else why wouldn't they have used it originally? Of course maybe it is MORE epic we don't know yet...but I'm anxious to find out.
The only way I would even be slightly upset is if the new master was basically the same version as the cover and the cover was horrible. Of course some people think every cover is horrible but honestly geddy lee isn't very easy to imitate and this one was pretty good compared to some other ones I've heard.

I'm more angry they didn't release a master for Tom Sawyer or Limelight.

In fairness to the OP, that was his first post here. Not everyone is familiar with the DLC announcements and I'm not prepared to tar and feather him for that.
That said, it is important to remember that these are distinct products. While with the new release, you do get a singer who will presumably sound more like Geddy Lee, it will be a different guitar solo. If you are enough of a Rush fan to complain about a singer not sounding exactly like Geddy, you should be aware that the guitar solo on the new release won't be the one you know and love. Doesn't mean it will be bad, but it won't be the same. They are clearly taking pains to point that out for a reason. As a Beatles fan who owns all of the Anthology releases, I can tell you that different instrumentation to a beloved song can stick out. Not necessarily like a sore thumb, I just know all those who complained about "not-Geddy" will be at risk of complaining about the solo not being what they've enjoyed hearing for years.
The version you bought, however, IS the version you've enjoyed for years. Instrumentation-wise, at least, it is an effort to approximate it. This week's DLC is something else entirely. I'm not saying it'll be bad. Just that it WILL be different and mileage may vary.

Well thanks to everyone who understands my anger, and to those who just flame with no intellectual type of input... well... why does your opinion matter anyway? it doesn't.
One thing i did not realize is the alternate solo, so it may well be worth downloading again.
and keicher thanks for rehashing the same god damn post that was posted 10 times in front of you... what about your drivel??????? dumb cu*t

For HMX to be able to dig inside the vault of a legendary band and come up with a ALTERNATE take on a very popular song that was UNRELEASED to the public is pretty effing amazing.
Fan or not you should have the exact opposite reaction for what they have pulled off.

As a fan, I'm happy. As a consumer, I'm disappointed. Either way, I'm happy with just the cover.

I am extremely excited for the alternate take on Working Man. If you are upset about the new version coming out...don't download it. Easy enough...

I bought the cover of working man the day it came out, and i'm still beyond psyched to see the master, but wait there's more, not just a master but an alternate recording. Can anyone else say epic win?
