Snare drum switches pads mid song

Notice that the snare drum switch in the middle of the song (the hand that feeds). It switches so that you can do the 16th notes on the high hat in the right position, but do you think it's a good idea to switch which pad you hit for the snare? Might confuse people i think...

I haven't watched the video yet (at work ;) ) so I may be totally off here:
Seems like if it's switching from a part that would be played cross-over (hi-hat w/ right hand, snare with left) and switched to 16 notes (both on hi-hat, right hand on snare every x beats) you would need to switch to keep from getting messed up, and be able to play with the correct hands.
