Rock Band is hands down better than GHIII

I just got back from playing RB at MIT and it was sooooooo sweet! I had been playing the demo for GHIII for a few days and it doesnt even compare to the utter awesome-ness of RB.
The interface of RB was really well thought out and even with 4 people playing at once wasn't confusing at all. Ever since i saw that Tom Sawyer was in the game i wanted to play the drums on it. It exceeded my expectations. November can't get here quickly enough.

A) How can you argue someone's opinion? He saying that he thinks RB demo > GH III demo.... what's your counter argument?

What are demos supposed to be if not a representation of the game therein? Granted, sometimes demos come out super early, but from what I've seen, this demo pretty much represents the game.

i think rock band is going to be not as fun as guitar hero 3. i got both but i am going to probably play gh3 more. rock band dows have more things to play, but it doesnt stand up to guitar hero 3's setlist. rock band could have had better songs. thank god for DLC

I'd agree that overall GH3 setlist is stronger for my taste, but rock band is going to be a lot more fun. I am just holding out hope that RB adds some great DLC.

Toymachine, please allow me to counterargue your earlier points.

A demo is supposed to be designed so as to give you a good impression of the game and really impress you. If Neversoft didn't achieve this, and in my opinion they most certainly haven't, it's a rather large failure for them.

Secondly, the demo does give an accurate feeling for the game and that feeling (it seems) for a lot of people was just not able to cut it. The demo is running off the final engine and thus everything is like it would be in the final product.

Finally, most of the people here have seen the notecharts via youtube and thus, knowing their own abilities and their impressions from the demo, are able to deduce whether these would be fun to play.

I'm not arguing one way or another here, but in your earlier posts you completely ignore these arguements. Keep them in mind

Honestly, when RB comes out we'll find out which is better. Until then, give it a rest you guys. This whole "RB vs GH3" Is getting way out of hand and is really starting to get annoying. GH3 is filled with bugs at the moment so of course it'll suck. From what I hear the online play is SEAMLESS, no lag what so ever when going against someone. They probably focused on that more than anything because online was very important for GH3.

Give GH3 a week to let all the bugs/kinks work out and it'll be a very damn good game for starting from scratch. Only opinion I can really give on RB is that the guitar is way sexier than the LP.

I've played a substantial build of the game on PS3
I've played we don't get fooled again on expert

I've yet to play Highway Star/Run To The Hills though

GH3 is about being a Shred Maniac that plays 7 minute guitar solos

Rockband is about doing your part in a band

they are both awesome games in their own way

the OP was making it seem like GH3 isn't worth even buying which isn't true- that's all I'm trying to establish

There's not room for both in my house. I'm on a limited budget, and an even more limited schedule. I'd like to play and own both, but with the sheer amount of time I look forward to putting into RB's BWT mode (which, regardless of where your loyalties lay, is far and away more impressive than anything GH3 will ever offer), and as such, just wouldn't have time for GH3.

And thusly, I will not be spending $100 on a game that I wouldn't play all that much. I'm a long time GH fanatic, but HMX gave me all that I've wanted since this series was begun, and so it is to them that my money will go.

And I'm not the only one in this boat. Not everybody is sitting on scads of disposable income and free time. Prioritization is necessary. Some will prioritize GH3 over RB, and vice versa. Comparisons like this are necessary so that those on the fence can make the best decision. Of course, the best scenario would be that the fence sitters would experience the demos before making such a decision, but these impressions can also help.

Star Power goes off on it's own as soon as I build up enough juice every single time. I'll never be able to finish this game with crap like that

Longer Whammy Bar is too long and gets in the way of my strum

Guitar doesn't sit right on my leg when I sit and play

The constant strum in just about every song bites. Previous games you could hear the click of the strummer as you played matching up with the general rhythm of the song. Now it's just straight picking the whole song through.

Many others but I don't need to post them here. Please Rock Band Gods I pray to you that these issues do not show up in your game as well.

I stated an opinion on GH and RB telling the good and bad of both. Then I went on to say it's not really great to fight about which is better. However showing the good in both, Nothing wrong with that.

The problem is simple Smoka. Passionate people tend to choose their favorite object/game/console/song and defend it to the death, even when it isn't necessary. They also think that people that enjoy other games/songs/consoles/objects are the enemy and will refuse to acknowledge any good points about the other object/game/song/console. This is what fuels the console wars and is the major driving factor in the GH3 v RB battle. People seem to think that by arguing that RB is better, the game will do better. While it's a very noble cause, it's futile.

Just let the guys battle it out, let them try to claim a "winner". You will never make these guys agree that both games are good. They will just never see it that way. And besides, I would rather this fight happen here in this thread then in other more important threads.
