I bought both GH1 and GH2 for ps2, and invested in two guitar controllers for it, costing me about £100 i think, and i dont own an Xbox 360 or a PS3, and i dont really want to have to buy one just to play Rock Band. Is there no chance of it being released on the PS2 at all? as im sure that a lot of other people will be in the situation.
I guess it'd be alright if it was released on the Wii, my little brothers got one of those.
Oh well.

It's pretty obvious that RB could never run on the PS2.

They could try it, but it would probably suck.
Upgrade man, there's no other way around it.

Sometimes you just gotta move on.
Don't worry, it'll be worth it. (sell your kid brother to European slavery if money is an issue)

yeah i guess i might aswell, im gunna wait and see if they announce a Wii version at some point, then all will be fine, im not too bothered about the price of the game, just the expense of getting another console.

I know, I really want this game, but now I'm going to have set back two paychecks just to get this game and console.

consider this.
Rock Band has 4 periphreals.
the PS2 has controller outputs.

Rock Band will never run on PS2, simply because of disk space. This game is going to be a monster, and not only does it need a huge amount of storage to fit the game itself, there's going to be lots of downloadable content, and it's going to have to stay somewhere.
And seeing as not that many people bought FFXI for PS2 outside of Japan...

Hey, I know what ya mean. Right now the only console I own or have access to is a ps2. I've started saving up for a ps3 and RockBand already, slowly getting there. I'll probably buy the ps3 about a week before RockBand comes out, get it all working and stuff so the day RockBand hits the shelves I can get right into it.

I wonder if the PS3 actually is the way to go with RB, this time.. no fanboying, but if it keeps up, the 360 will have a considerably larger install base (maybe 3 or 4 times) for people to rock out with.
Wii may have caught up by then, but who knows when RB will be out for it, unfortunately

the 360 allready has a much larger player base than the ps3 or Wii (on the exception of the Dreamcast, whichever console that gets released first allways "wins" that generation of the console war).
buying the ps3 just for this game personally makes no sense to me considering a good portion of thier better games are getting ported over to the 360 as well (largely because for games like GTAIV, in order to make a profit as a PS3 exclusive, 80% of all PS3 owners would have to buy the game).....
but i digress....anyways..yah the multitap COULD work, but you also gotta consider that hardly anyone has them.

yeah but it think they'd rather shell out £20 on a multi-tap then £400 on a ps3..

Porting it to last gen systems will reflect on the quality on the next gen system game. Less people working on it. So, NO, please DON'T waste time/money/resources on that.

The reason I'm personally choosing to go with ps3 isn't just because of Rock Band. I'm a huge Final Fantasy fan, and ps3 is the way to go with that. LittleBig Planet, Metal Gear Solid 4 and Heavinly Sword are all going to be cool too.
I am a ps3 fanboy, but i don't completely hate the 360 or xbox fans, I just find that over half the games I'm looking forward to are exclusively on the ps3.
