We Call That Bomb DLC.
I think we know almost everything that could make a big announcement besides DLC...
Nothin' that new in the article, but still nice to see. I hope the "Stay Tuned" doesn't mean wait for RB2 for online WBT....

Very good read. Answered all my questions and concerns, if I hadn't already paid for this game in full, right about now is the time I'd be asking "who do I give my money too!" :D

yeah, the best read is the last two paragraphs...
IGN: Why isn't there any online play in BWT?
Teasdale: Rock Band features several local and online modes from its deep solo adventure to its expansive full band experience. We want to make sure that the online experience with Band World Tour is perfect and bug-free, and as in-depth and fun as the other modes. In order to do that we'll be bringing online Band World Tour to you at a later date.
This doesn't mean you can't play with your friends online though - you can still play with your buddies in a four person band in Band Quickplay or with the head to head modes Score Duel and Tug of War.
IGN: Is there any chance there would be an update released to allow online play in BWT?
Teasdale: Stay Tuned...
So, we just have to be patient...

Seeing RAWK-AID made me think of a tribute concert for AIDs, and seeing it was in London made me sad that there's no Queen in Rock Band :(

can you play BWT with 2-3 players or do you need the full 4?

Yay, now people can stop complaining, or at least in a little bit...

I'm still a little confused, but if this comes through a patch I think Harmonix will officially own my soul. Permanently.

The message on solo modes seems a little confused, as there are two statements in that article that seem to be fairly contradictory:
"Rock Band offers a solo mode that plays much like Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero II. You play with one instrument through a series of songs that become progressively harder."
"Rock Band features several local and online modes from its deep solo adventure to its expansive full band experience"

I'm done complaining. :) This is what I wanted, and confirmation that it'll be a patch and not "We'll hold it hostage until Rock Band 2008" is enough for me. Granted, I'll be eagerly eager about getting it ASAP but knowing it's coming goes a LONG way!
Agreed about "Deep solo mode" vs. "It's like GH". Huh? *headscratch* We'll see.

Wow. This is actually pretty reassuring that they may release a BWT mode online patch/content pack. Awesome. If they did, I'd be so incredibly happy, and I know a lot of people over Xbox Live that would buy the game because of it. Of course I'm buying it either way, though.
Nice interview.

Yeah he sounds pretty psyched about it. I'm definitely considering this confirmation that they are super, duper, dead serious about bringing BWT online.
I call a year tops before there's a patch. If we get nothing for a year I call hax.

I will say the first part about solo mode sorta punched me in the back of the head, but then the other thing left me just as I was born: confused, scared and naked.

I agree, which way is it ? it seems no one is saying fully what Solo tour offers, is it how IGN say with it being just a GH tier thing or is there some aspects of BWT in there as well which seems to suggest that there is with what Dan said. i wish someone would just come out and say it's such and such.

If BWT eventually goes online, which I'm so happy to hear it's coming, can you just go on as one player and join a band online, or do you have to have someone on the console with you before you go online? Because if you can finally solo it, and go online by yourself and experience BWT, I will be a very happy person. Too bad about the solo tour though, it completely shafts everyone from what IGN said (It is very GH like, no if and's or buts). I hate to be the 50th person on this thread to say this, but what is this guy talking about, he says the Solo tour is deep, but he also said it's GH like. This guy needs to RTFM!

Great read, DanT answered some good questions. Most of which we already knew parts of.
"In order to do that we'll be bringing online Band World Tour to you at a later date. "
That does sound promising, hopefully we do get online BWT at somepoint, how much later though is the real question.

He just did! Solo play is just like Guitar Hero. It's very deep because you get three singleplayer games in one (guitar, bass, vocal).
I mean, the guy came right out and said "like Guitar Hero," nothing more is necessary. I still work on my career in GH2, it's a deep (long lasting until full completion) play mode.

It's at least good to know that they have every intention of trying to get BWT online going and even if we never do see it in this version, I'd be confident it won't be for a lack of trying to get it to work.
Promising if you think of how the HMX staff will be divvied up going forward: Good chunk of folks authoring DLC, fair number of folks working on The Next Big Thing, and that still leaves you a fair number of folks left over to work on BWT online or other things that the tight development cycle wouldn't allow.
The answer at least wasn't "never, ever" to BWT online and that's all I wanted to hear!
