Hello, i was just wondering why the delay on the ps2 version, maybe so they can add more stuff or actually do an awesome port of this :D? Anyways, can somebody provide me with info?

Thanks in advance.
P.S. I googled before this and nothing came up, just some prices.

Might have something to do with HMX outsourcing it. Also, I don't think it was originally going to come out on PS2, so they had less time to work on it than the other versions.

So another company is porting it?
Geez, i hope it doesnt end up like GH3, then again the ps2 is a 7 year old machine, so i should be happy i even get a Rock Band.

I doubt they would have done it if they couldn't make a good port. There won't be any online or DLC, but other than that I expect all the features of the next gen versions will be there.

get a next-gen system. don't waste 160 bucks on rock band for the ps2.

hahaha!!:D yeah dude!, some people just can't let the PS2 rest in peace.....

No offense to the OP, but seriously save some cash and get a 360 or a PS3 they are not that expensive anymore, and just on a side note, I owned a PS2 and it gave me many a good years of enjoyment, but it's time to let it go...;)

No offense to some people, I know not everyone cant afford the new systems because of tight budgets and such. But just save your money until you can afford one of the newer system. 360, PS3 doesn't matter. They're both better than any other the older consoles.

PS2 doesn't get downloadable content - that alone should make it not worth buying, besides the fact that it's outsourced.

The PS2's instruments will all work on the PS3 so he can buy it now and only have to buy the game disc when he gets a PS3 later. Sounds pretty smart to me.

The PS2 version was never delayed, the release date has always been after the next gen version.

PS2 is better then PS3 for all I know.

plus if we save enough money to get a system(which I would end up only buying one game for) then we'd have to get more money to buy the DLC which is the main reason to get the next gen version.

we're not all made of money. there are bills to be paid.

I wish there was just a little more info out there about the PS2 release. There's a lot of assumptions about instrument compatibility, and if it's true, then upgrading to a PS3 later might be a good option.

I'm hard pressed to justify dropping $400 to $500 on a new system just for the downloadable content. However, if the PS2 version is completely watered down, I'd rather just sink the money into a new system.

As for now, my battle plan is to get the PS2 version (a couple of friends are chipping in and I already have a nice wireless for the bass), and if the 360 and PS3 versions are that much better, I'll just gift the old version to friends and upgrade to the Next Gen.

Does anybody know for sure if the PS2 GH guitars will work on RB on ps3 100%?
I know there are issues with playing the PS2 GH games on PS3 and using the PS2 guitars, no HO/PO and such. Anybody know anything about this? Would make it a lot easier for me to make a PS3 rock band purchase if they were compatible.
