Your In-Game Character: Just like you or totally out there?

Are you guys planning on making your character an exact in-game version of yourself, or are you going to go totally nuts and make a totally new persona, like the IGN band did?

I think I'm going to go somewhere in between. I'm planning on making my guy physically look like me (and I've already seen a screenshot of a character that looks eerily like me), and then kind of ramping up my actual sense of style.

For example, I have a few tattoos, but not as many as I'd like (or can afford). So I'm going to somewhat live out that fantasy by making and placing all my dream tats.

If I had to describe my own personal style, I'd call it "Budget Rock." (Band t-shirts, ripped jeans, Chucks, etc.). I'm really looking forward to amping that up to whatever degree I want in Rock Band, without having to spend any real dough.

I want a semi-hippy frontman singer, a quiet and slightly dangerous grunge guitarist, a goth bassist, and a rather angry neocon punk rock drummer. I tend to really get into create-a-character modes in games like these... adds a layer of roleplay on top of the game mechanics.

But, if solo tours only let you play your one character and you can't make / name / logo up a band... sad panda.

I'll probably make a serious character that might have a slight resemblance to me (except rock-ified), and I'll make a crazy character for when I'm in the mood to be silly and goof off. If you can create bands for online, me and my Xbox Live friends will think of a crazy theme band, like we did for a Saint's Row Clan/Gang.

In Saint's Row, we were the Morbidly Obese Original Bangaz, or MOOBZ. We were all as fat as you can get, with horribly deformed characters. Our signature clothing items were a Flava-Flav like clock necklace and a tye-dye doo rag/bandana. :D

My character was a very fat Bob Marley look-alike with the dirty Santa clothes on. So much fun. :D

You should see me with wrestling games. I treat it as a fighting game construction set, basically; creating a slew of martial artists, grapplers, villains, etc with interrelated backstories and rivalries. True, it amuses no one other than myself, but it's still amusing.

The only way this plan can be torpedoed is if you can't make a 75% fictional (25% you) band for solo play. Unfortunately all "band" stuff like logos seems to be BWT only...

I'll create myself first, I always do that in any game I play that has create-a-player mode. Then I'll try to recreate the GH Characters and then I'll go on to make my own characters. Might even do a guide like the ones they have for WWE games that tell you how to make a famous person or game character :D

When I play solo drum career, I dunno...myself again perhaps.

Various other characters will be created for quickplay fun...all the members of Tool as closely as I can get them. I'm sure I'll try and be creative a few times too, creating completely fictional characters. Should be fun, can't wait to try this out...
