View Full Version : Created bands during solo play, yes/no?

I PMed this to spraynwipe, but in case any other devs notice... I realize it's a complete longshot to pitch a question on a forum and get an answer out of someone but I'll cross my fingers anyway.

If I'm playing solo, can I still make and name and create a logo for a band, design four characters, and take that band into the solo (one instrument) career modes?

Or are created bands locked into BWT only and solo career puts you in with a generic, unnamed band like in Guitar Hero?

If you're playing by yourself you don't get world tour mode, you get something quite similar to Guitar Hero where you play songs by tiers, I think.

Yes, I know -- and I can be okay with that provided that I can make a band for use in that mode. Name it, give it a logo, design four characters, go.

But if the whole "create a fictional band" thing is restricted to the multiplayer BWT only... then, aww. :(

That's what I mean. It's supposed to be very similar to Guitar Hero in the sense that you don't get to make all 4 band members, make a logo..
Kinda sucks, but I can't complain. I've got 3 other friends that'll be over for release. =)

Where'd you read that? Yes, we've heard it's "similar to GH2" but that doesn't mean that created bands are locked out from it. It just means it's a tiered setlist grinder.

I'm hoping for a more solid yes or no... we can speculate all we like, and unfortunately are probably right that Harmonix didn't bother implementing anything interesting or new for solo players... but even so. Confirmation's better.

i still don't understand why they made a solo tour and a band tour. just leave it at band tour and choose 1 to 4 players.

oh well, it's done now. hopefully they throw us some scraps or something.

Exactamundo! Why bother coding a "solo" tour differently than the WBT? Sounds like a lot of extra effort for what appears to be a lackluster feature. If you can do a 2 person WBT w/ the game picking up the extra band members, having a solo option seems like a no-brainer.

Alright, I'm going outside to beat on a dead horse now.
