I'm surprised no-one posted a topic about this. But it's probably for the same reason the site won't let me say I'm English.

A little while ago, IGN put up a competition to be one of the first people in the UK to be able to play Rock Band, and represent them playing the game live at EA's "Be The One" event in Trafalgar Square in the London Game's Festival.

Here's the article about the Heats to get into the band. (http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/829/829413p1.html)
I'm William Battle on there, by the way.

Here's The article on the band's rehearsal session. (http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/829/829789p1.html)

We then got to perform Live against a team from Stuff Magazine.
Performance report here. (http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/831/831672p1.html)

Here's a video of our performance. (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=sIh98RFdZns)
The "technical hitch" in the middle was me pulling the cable out while trying to walk out and play to the crowd. Stupid enthusiasm...

For winning, we are supposed to be getting Rock Band and all four instruments at UK release, but I think getting the normal three instrument bundle is more likely.

Good goin' dude! So on a scale of 1-11 (11 being louder than 10) how awesome? I mean it looks like you guys were seriously putting on a show.

It really was amazing. I'd have to put it at a 10, just becuase of my stupid breaking Rock Band onstage. Also, being able to play Rock Band for extended lengths of time=instawin!

Ahh, sorry about that. I didn't realise, it's the time difference that put me off.

Instawin. Beautiful use of the interweb language.

Who doesn't love interwebz language?

The really annoying thing is that now that I've played it, I'm going insane not being able to play in until it comes out here in the UK! Next Year!

Congratulations, William! That looked like a lot of fun.

Word to the wise, though. Easiest way for a bassist to kicked out of band is to spend the whole song standing between the front man and the camera. Media whore! :)

Very well done man. A bit lame they made/had you guys playing with your backs to the crowd/camera tho. Poor planning on someone's part.

Maybe if our guitarist had any style I wouldn't have had to!

And yes, thanks, it was crazy fun!
