Still fantastic though. In hindsight I just wish they picked ANY other Radiohead song and I wouldnt really care how good the rest was, I would just giuve it a 10.

I don't know that you can put a number to quantify this value, but it definately has the "soul" or "personality" of the GH1 and 2 setlists.

Honestly everytime I see Radiohead mentioned for Rock Band, I think of letting out a "Hell Yeah!" but then I realize its one of their lamest songs.
Thats pretty much the only thing holding back the soundtrack for me. I have a bunch of my all time favorite bands here and a ton of great ones.
Radiohead, Soundgarden, The Who, The Strokes, Boston, Nirvana, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, The Pixies, Nine Inch Nails, Metallica, Faith No More, The Hives, David Bowie, Stone Temple Pilots, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Police, Smashing Pumpkins, The Ramones, Kiss, The Rolling Stones, Deep Purple, Rush, REM, Aerosmith...
These names are legendary. Everyone can find something to like.

The setlist is awesome.. I don't care about the addition of FOB or The Killers since they'll probably end up being pretty fun to play. And, the FOB song was before they really got big and were overplayed on the radio/MTV.. Plus, it's not a terrible song.

25% I haven't heard, but hold out hope for.
25% is good.
If some songs grow on me, and the songs i don't know are good, it'll be a 6.5-7.
The Who as DLC kinda makes up for the crap though. 12 awesome songs.

That's funny I was thinking the opposite. I love classic rock but their is only 1 60's song and 0 50's songs in the game so far but their are a lot of 70's and 80's classic rock songs.

I think its easy to think of how the set list could've been better (Queen, Zeppelin, GnR, etc), but I think compared to the previous games, this set list is the best, even better than GH1 (which was my old favorite, of the 3 or 4 games, depends on how many you count).
I'd give it an 8.5.

Id give it 10/10 from hearing about how great the game is, seeing the videos and knowing how good a lot of the songs are.
It definitely reminds me of the Guitar Hero 1 setlist, and seeing as I loved that one more than 2 and 80s, I think it will almost certainly my fave so far.
The Guitar Hero 3 setlist is impressive for me......but its really brought down by its amount of crap on it. The fact the game is a hell of a lot easier to play doesnt help.
So, yeah, Rock Band ftw! I think it catches the essence of all the era's of rock and a few different genres very well.

8.5/10.
There's only a handful of songs I'm really not interested in, mostly the more recent tracks. But nearly everything else, I'm super-excited for. There isn't really anything that falls into the "meh" pile for me.
As opposed to GH3's setlist, which only has a handful of songs I'd be interested in playing, and the rest I couldn't care less about or genuinely dislike. Slipknot?! Puh.

Seriously, my classic rock station plays many 80's tunes. Won't be too much longer until I hear Nirvana or something on a classic rock station. :/

Although none of the many great bands I suggested are in the game and although I really miss them, I still say it's a very good list with a lot of different bands and styles and, I think there is something for everyone.
So, I say 8/10.

I trust Harmonix song choice and note making abilties. Songs I had never heard of or did not like, ending up being great songs to play. One of them especially was No One Knows by Queens of the Stone Age on the first GH. That song was absolutely a blast to play!
In GH2 the same thing happen with Rock'n'Roll Hoochie Koo. I could play that for hours!
But if you asked me before I had the game or before I played either one, I would have said, meh, song list is great except they added No One Knows or Rock'n'Roll Hoochie Koo respectfully.

I say 7 out of 10 in terms of my personal taste in music.
I think there's a little too much of the recent stuff that I don't enjoy. I wish that Harmonix had saved Electric Eye for Rock Band; but who really knows if it's lost with their fantastic DLC promises.
In terms of fun factor, I would give the setlist 9 out of 10. I really believe Harmonix when they said that they went for songs that were fun to play.

Half of the songs are modern stuff that I've not really heard and could care less about, but that was also the case with GH and GH2 and I found a lot of bands that I now like so the same will no doubt hold true for RB as well.
Score-wise, I have to go 10/10 just for 4 songs if nothing else:
Gimme Shelter
Tom Sawyer
Epic
and....

Even the songs that I don't like seem like they will at least be fun (there is no Institutionalized). Even the easy songs have energy (there is no I Love Rock and Roll).
I also think that the choices will do well to show people that songs they thought were simple actually have a lot going on behind the scenes than they expected.

10/10, definitely a better song list than GH3. Mostly because the majority of Rock Band's songs are master tracks and just better all around! I am getting GH3 tonight, but I have a feeling I may be trading it in toward my preorder for Rock Band.

I give it a 9.9/10, with only a few songs that lower it (surprisingly NOT Fall Out Boy, just because they are incredibly catchy)
It most definately kicks Guitar Hero right in the butt BECAUSE almost all the songs are classics, there is more to music than just the guitar. Look at Dragonfarce. I admit they've got some talented guitarists. But their music sucks major butthole. I'd rather play an easier song that is GREAT than a incredibly super hard song that really sucks (*Cough* Psycobilly Freakout *Cough*)
Props for getting:
Creep - Radiohead
Welcome Home - Coheed and Cambria (Check them out if you havent, they kick)
Gimmie Shelter - Rolling Stones (Greatest. Song. Ever):D :D :D
Green Grass and High Tides - The Outlaws (This is one of the songs that SHOULD have been in Guitar Hero)
(Don't Fear) The Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult (More Cowbell!)
Run to the Hills - Iron Maiden (MUCH better than Number of the Beast IMO)
Detroit Rock City - Kiss (Kiss' only great song (I don't like glam metal at all))
Foreplay/Long Time - Boston (That whole album better be DLC)
Every thing else is just gravy (What were they thinking with Garbage and Hole:confused: ). I don't care for the NIN song, but that's cause I don't like them that much. Creep is a GREAT song, but I'm not the only one that'd rather have Paranoid Android right? If they do add GNR (besides the song I mention below) they should add Knocking on Heavens Door. That is a great song.
IF they do do a keyboard controller (which would be sick) they should add November Rain by Guns N Roses (second best song eva) and either Bat out of Hell by Meat Loaf OR Paradise by the Dashboard Lights by Meatloaf, all three of those songs are SICK!

Um, when did 80's rock become "Classic Rock"?
Am I that old?
Classic rock was originally conceived as a radio station programming format which evolved from the album oriented rock (AOR) format in the early-1980s. In the United States, this rock music format now features a large but limited playlist of songs ranging from the late-1960s through the late 1980s with more emphasis on the earlier hits by artists associated with the loosely-defined "classic rock era".
Now..what makes you feel old is that they are playing 80's music on the oldies station.
The oldies station here anyway had phased out most of the 50's and put in a few 80's
Anyway, I give the list a 10/10
I know and like most of the tracks, and what I don't know will likely grow on me.

one song is 1/45th of the total. So 10*1/45 = 3. Now, 10-3=8. So simple a middle schooler could do it!
In fact, probably only a middle-schooler.

Well the first 30 songs, Chronological speaking are outstanding (just about everything 60-90s) but being an old fogey, nothing in the 2000s looks that great, but I'm sure at least half will be fun to play. Notably Maps - Yeah,Yeah, Yeah! and Fall Out Boy flat out blow and should never have made the list. So using my patented playlist rating algorithm, I've got 30 great +13/2 Decent - 2 suckwads - 2 questionable (Hole, Weezer) + The Police (sorry love this band) = 9.2/10.
Compared to the GHIII, which is 28 looking forward to playing and like 40 whatevers but a good half will probably turn out fine but won't want to play over and over - repeats of RB songs + bonus for Heart's Barracuda = 6.5/10.
