View Full Version : More options in practice mode

This is not at all top-priority to me, but I think it would be nice for the two people that use practice mode.
First off... a multiplier. GH: Aerosmith incorporated this, and while I only needed to practice one song in that game (Train Kept a Rollin', for the Scorehero achievement), it was still nice.
Now, following this, I think some other options might be nice, but hard to incorporate. For example, maybe the option to only play the bass pedal in a song?
Now, I know this sounds pointless, but I'll give you an example. How nice would it be, in Don't Fear the Reaper, to be able to concentrate only on the bass pedal (or drum roll), and have the game tell you your multiplier. Learn the bass pedal, learn the drum roll, and put them together.
Like I said, not top priority, but it would be nice.

I like your ideas.
I also think it'd be nice if practice mode was multiplayer.

That might be nice. I can easily see a full band needing to practice Panic Attack...

Ability to pick song parts on vox, full band practice, foot, left hand, right hand, and two of each drum training (because in the tutorial, it tells you to 'break it down' like that, why can't you?), multipler, note streak counter ala GH, the ability to slow down past 50% speed, etc.

I agree with everything posted thus far. Full band practice, selection/speed for vocals, streak meter, etc.
On top of that I would like to see:
1. A replay of what your inputs actually were compared to what the song wanted.
2. Statistics on selections, histogram of streaks, percentages, average early/late times.
3. A mode where you could set a "good enough level" where it would auto bump up your speed by 10% when you got a good enough percentage of notes.
Play a section on 50%, get 70% of the notes. It repeats at 50% speed. This time you get 91% of the notes where 90% is what you set at your "good enough" level. Then it repeats at 60% speed. Once you beat 90% notes hit it bumps up to 70% speed.

A streak multiplier would be nice so we could see if we're actually hitting the notes properly or just strumming so fast we shotgun the note. I'd also like a metronome in practice mode that tells you how fast you're strumming/drumming in beats per second, along with a standard deviation listed so you know how much you're wandering in rhythm.
