View Full Version : Hope RB songs are Downloadable in RB2

I'm sure this has come up a million times already, but I'm hoping that if it keeps coming up, it'll get some attention.

I don't want to have to swap disks between RB and RB2 to play some of my favorite RB songs. I don't think anyone does. Furthermore, I really want to play some of the RB songs in online tour mode, and if I can't somehow download the songs for use with RB2, that simply won't be possible.

I realize Harmonix and EA need to make money. I'm not asking for them to hand out free songs. I would prefer some sort of validation system - any sort of validation system - wherein I can get my songs from RB over to RB2. I've already paid for them, I just want to use them along with the extensive DL and RB2 library I'm sure to have when the game comes out.

Who's with me? I would hope the community would make this a priority.

... c'mon, you said it yourself ... been posted a million times, I'm quite sure anyone who cares has read all our thoughts on this already.

Lock this up.

I agree some validation system saying you've already purchased RB1 is the only way this could be done, but I'm sure people could take advantage of it.
I think we have to be thankful for the DLC compatibility and just suck it up that we may have to (God forbid) change a disc to play a particular song. I myself am tired to death of the on disc songs and really only play DLC, so knowing I can still play all 120+ of my DLC in RB2 I'm not really worrying about it...

We got us a Castlevania fanboy. Good game.

Who likes to repost. Not cool.

Go touch yourself or something.

Trusting wikipedia is like trusting Darth Sidius(sp). Its just going to end up with you getting shocked to death with force lightning.

To me, the only way to justify all Rock Band 1 songs for free is to put a time limit on it. Like for all Rockband 2s bought in the first month or two, otherwise if they are free for all time the Artists and record companies will have a cow.

If HMX goes the free route to anyone who purchases RB2 and not a validation system then it has to have a time limit and then the songs go up to normal price for royalty reasons.

That article is based on rumors. HMX has not oficially stated if the RB1 disc songs will transfer yet. I think that it is an important issue if Rockband is to be viewed as a platform and not as a series of games.

Otherwise, I hope all my fave artists are released as DLC and not on discs so I can always play them in the most current edition.

Their source is ultimately the retracted IGN article. Weak-sauce.
