Does anyone else think Dani California was a terrible song choice? The Chili Peppers are a great band with a great catelog but why oh why would they pick Dani California. I understand that it needs to be popular so we arent gonna see anything off of Uplift Mofo or Mothers Milk but even the stuff off of Blood Sugar kills Dani California. Or something off of Californication. Parallel Universe anyone? Around The World? Suck My Kiss was a great choice for GH3. I'm pretty disapointed about this.....

No way I love the song Dani California and I requested it to be in the game way back when we could request songs for Rock Band.

No doubt its a good song, but there are SO MANY better choices from the Chili Peppers.

I agree, Dani California is okay, but RHCP have MANY MANY MANY much better songs.

John Frusciante apparently needs to get back on heroine... That's the only way he was ever good at guitar.

Yeah, the Chili Peppers have much better songs than that. (Flea is the most awesome bassist ever!)

The setlist as a whole is terrible.

Not entirely true. Check out his chops on the Mars Voltas first album Deloused in the Comatorium. He plays lead on a couple of songs (Flea plays bass on the whole album. He's still got the chops, but RCHP has gotten pretty formuliac.

I would have liked something off of Blood Sugar Sex Magik. I'm hoping for it to be DLC later on, because that's one of their best albums in my opinion.

Flea's basswork just isn't what it used to be anymore.

really though, we need some better/older RHCP stuff, like not Slovac older and Navarro wasn't really that good but anything BLSM, Californication or By The Way, or even some stuff off Stadium Arcadium like 21 Century(great bass) or Snow ((Hey Oh)) (great guitar part). But some older stuff would really be great, like Under the Bridge or as Seattle_Sound said: Parallel Universe anyone? But what would be the best of all is if we could get some live stuff like the Slane Castle version of Californication, which has a sweet solo, or Throw Away Your Television live in Hyde Park, love the bass in that.

Californication at Slane is incredible. Frusciante was amazing there. Blood Sugar probably has a good chance at DLC although it does fall flat every once in a while. The more I think about it the more I wonder what the heck HMX was thinking when they chose Dani California. Maybe its gonna be surprisingly fun to play or something....

Give it Away or Can't Stop would be my choices from RHCP.

I agree. I always thought Give It Away would be a perfect song for the game. Good drums, good bass, tough vocals. It'd be fun.

I would kill for Under The Bridge, for the vocals alone.

I think John can still play damn well. Snow (Hey Oh) and Readymade are awesome.

Really, ANY RHCP would be great. I'm not a big Dani fan, but it will still be fun.

I was thinking this same thing. What about the "What Hits?" album. Not the greatest hits that came out a few years ago. I'm talking about the one right after 'Under the Bridge' and 'Give It Away' came out. It has the great stuff from their early work. 'Johny Kick A Hole In The Sky' would be great or 'Backwoods'. I do have a feeling that Blood.... will be an album DLC.

John can still play, I just don't think Stadium Arcadium really demonstrates Flea's talents well.

blood sugar baby! a sex magik!
HMX just puts the biggest songs for the largest audience, most ppl who arent too into chili peppers history would like and agree dani california is a good choice, but im almost sure they will have RHCP DLC online within a month of release date! they better put up that and some Mars Volta!

Yes I agree it was a terrible choice. I had it as the worst song in the game for quite a while and was the first I considered to be bad,due to recent announcements it's now somewhere in the 3rd to 6th worst song.

I was hoping for Under the Bridge or Give It Away or even that Coneheads movie song I can't remember the name of right now.

Soul To Squeeze, yeah it would be good. It was recorded during the Blood Sugar sessions and I dont know how it didnt make the album.

When I first heard Dani California on the radio, I thought I was listening to Tom Petty's "Last Dance with Mary Jane". In fact, I still do, every single time I hear it!

Soul to Squeeze would be a good choice.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge RHCP fan. I do think, though, they're starting to "recycle" some old songs. They need to freshen up their sound!

In my opinion, their best song since John came back was "Scar Tissue".

Yeah they have gotten really stale. Californication would have been a great finale......
