That's because Rock Band is better and everyone in the audience are experienced/intelligent gamers. They know what's good, and they know who is better. GH3 sucked, I don't care what any GH fanboy says. There's not much to be excited for about GH:WT, considering it's Rock Band: Neversoft Edition

The music editor stuff looked mildly cool. Still wouldn't even consider getting the game though. I'm a little disappointed by exclusivity of bands, though.. although if AC/DC remains a Rock Band exclusive, that'll show them =p

I also found it funny when the Guitar Hero guy came out and said "I'm really excited to be hear to tell you about.....Guitar Herooooo" and maybe two guys in the crowd yelled.
Classic.

People know that Rock Band rules and GH drools. :)

Alex definitely threw down (although I don't think he knows it). The Red Octane guy got blown away.

^ The music games start at about an hour and 40 minutes in.

Just FF slowly until you see the GH logo. You HAVE to watch it. The audience seemed disinterested in it.

Rock Band 2 is the third music game shown. Alex gets introduced at about an hour and 50 minutes. The BEST was saved for last. :)

Lol that guy's facial expressions were funny. It looked like he was forced to act rock n rollish. Another great moment was when he threw up the horns and yelled "Metallica!" I thought it was sad no one even clapped.

Hey, when GH4 (software only) is sub thirty bucks used or new, I'll totally pick it up just to play the guitar tracks and mess around with guitar in the music maker. I'm not gonna spend a dime more on that series, though, especially not another set of drums.

I'm still 5x more excited for RB2, however. At least I know Harmonix isn't going to screw up the charting like Neversoft did with GH3.

I'm still peaved over the fact that Activision is screwing up the Music Game genre.. getting exclusive deals with big artists. That is not what this game stuff is about. Of course all these companies are businesses and are looking for the most money they can get, but god damn them for doing such a thing.

They have 4 good bands on board. Aerosmith, The Eagles, Metallica, and Van Halen. Sure I can live without these bands as I never listen to em, but I would love to play some of their biggest hits on the game that I have invested in, but leave it to Activision on screwing that up. I hope their game sucks and flops.

Judging by their track record, I would not be surprised.

I wonder what ever happened to all the love Metallica was showing to Harmonix. Activision must have offered them a fat sum of cash.

Metallica isn't "exclusive". As far as I know, the only ones who were exclusive were Aerosmith, Van Halen, & The Eagles. If Metallica were exclusive, we wouldn't be getting "Battery" on-disc for RB2.

RockBandRocker
07-14-2008, 07:01 PM
No, they aren't exclusive.

GH can get NEW Metallica and keep it. Did anybody notice that you would have to download the new album twice, if they wanted it. Once for GH3 and once for GH: WT.

Let Rock Band get OLD Metallica. You know, the stuff that rocks. ;)

Here you introduced your first campaign, 'Conquistador Coffee brings a new meaning to the word vomit'. Here you made your special introductory offer of a free dead dog with every jar, and this followed your second campaign 'the tingling fresh coffee which brings you exciting new cholera, mange, dropsy, the clap, hard pad and athlete's head. From the House of Conquistador'. Why, Frog?"

I agree with you...if GH3 was actually good, they really overplayed a lot of aspects of it. It was littered with ads, the graphics were sub-par for a company like activision, and the smoothness of gameplay was shoddy at best. I wouldn't bash activision so much if they actually could make a good quality game and weren't so damn money hungry. If activision and hmx were two companies that both made games of the same quality I'd have no problem with them kinda co-existing, but activision has proven that all that they will do is screw up this genre with crap, that why I hate them.

^ What have you been smoking?

GH3 was a big steaming pile of s**t compared to the first 2 (and a half) games.

GH, GH2 & GH:'80' are better than GH3.

It is a safe bet that GH:WT will be a major disappointment like GH3 & GH: Aerosmith. The GH games have gone down the drain, and the MAJORITY of gamers know it.

It's not a competition. It's a commonly held belief/knowledge. Just because YOU can't see it doesn't mean others can't. Wake up and smell the coffee. :)

Says you. Unfortunately for you, your opinion isn't the world.

Like I said - it's ****ing stupid that people bash on GH so much. I would guess that if Harmonix had created the same game you'd all be on your knees kissing their asses and saying how great it is.

It's quite transparent that the hostility is based mostly on the fact that the company shifted out and another one was put in place. Had Harmonix made it as they had the other 3, I guarantee you'd be singing a different tune.

Quite frankly, it's pathetic.

lol actually no...GH was really a steaming pile of crap, there's not doubting it, especially if you look up reviews for GH2 and GH3 and compare them. If hmx had made that game instead of activision, I would hate it just as much because when a game company gets a lot of money, you expect a really really good game to come from some of that revenue. Plus you have to realize that activision/neversoft have a pretty bad track record with other games...look at the last two of the Tony Hawk games, man how many of those are there now 50?

Harmonix developed/started the GH franchise. The first GH was developed by Harmonix, Red Octane, and MTV Games.

Activision came on board for GH2 & GH:'80's, but Harmonix still developed it.

Check your history!

Harmonix DID create the game, a**hole.

Harmonix created Guitar Hero 3? Funny, I don't see them on the developer list.

I liked GH3, and GH : A, but honestly if HMX HAD created both of those games we wouldn't be having this conversation, because they would have charted it from a musician standpoint and not a how hard can we make this chart type thing.

I noticed it a lot while playing STP on GH : A. They had you jump back and forth from the green to the orange button A LOT on expert. it seemed they were just making the button pushes difficult to hit in order to make it harder for expert, instead of charting it more actual music playing wise if you know what i mean.

I'll agree with that. The charting on some songs was terrible - but many of the songs were still fun enough - especially One. Favorite song a GH/RB game yet.

Lets think for two seconds your on the Rock Band forums, not guitar hero forums. Secondly Guitar Hero will never be better than Rock Band because its hard to make something better when the people who invented the concept and developed the series are still around. Rock Band is just a better designed and executed game, Guitar Hero 2 was great so was 1, 3 was ok it was fun playing through once. See unlike Guitar Hero, Rock Band is a game you can play over and over again and enjoy it at the same level from the first time you played it I mean hitting like 103024032432 notes is fun but hitting more realistic notes and the amount is closer just makes you get into the game that much more. If your going to keep asking questions on why we don't like Rock Band it is because first off its the Rock Band forums secondly most of the owners of Rock Band have guitar hero 1 or 2 or 3 or 80's and they didn't like the way the series was going and switched over to Rock Band so, if you want to get sympathy points go post on anything forum..

the ugly singer from gh makes me feel sick. My brother rented GH: A a week ago and it was a waste of $7 and my time. The ugly graphics/ animations, the boringest setlist ever that made no sense, and other things that make GH annoying like flat music drowned out by stupid sound effects like the annoying thunder noises from star powers and stupid clanking from missing a note
