Really, it seems to me that everyone's just bashing GHIII lately, even if the topic they're posting in is only slightly related to it. I actually bought GHIII the other night at Game Crazy, and I still have Rock Band pre-ordered. Can't we all just get along?

EDIT: I still hate raining blood, but hey, who doesn't?

This thread is now about...

Your favorite Frank Sinatra song.

I personally like his rendition of Cole Porter's "Night and Day"

GH3 is good but it doesn't have the soul the GH1/2 had.

Rock Band, I'm yours.

Its not that everyone hates Guitar Hero. Its that everyone hates the direction GH went. It seriously, in my eyes, hasn't improved.

BUT!

I did get it.

I think of Rock Band and Guitar Hero as my "children." I'm very proud of both of them. Of course they both have their faults, but hey, who doesn't?

Now saying that, as a parent to these "children" of course I have a favorite. I have one that is going to get preferential treatment. I don't let it be known of course I keep that as a secret. Of course both games are going to disappoint to some level because they can't all be the greatest game ever.

I'll love both but one of them but one will be a favored "child"

I'm going to make a great parent. :p

If GH3 was better, I could support this thread.

The only problem I have with guitar hero 3 is that it doesn't like the way I strum. Never had a problem on 1,2, or 80's, so that tells me it's the game. I have to get used to a new strum style, so that makes it harder..

Anyone from HMX care to (diplomatically, of course ;) ) comment on GHIII if they've tried it??

That explains it, you gave poor GHIII a complex!

yep, I play with a pick or my fingers like they are holding a pick, and the strum bars are ultra-sensitive in GH3 which totally sucks for me. Having to return the PS2 version (Kramer and SG guitars both do it) today and I'll try the 360 version, but I hear others saying it happens with them as well (though I have the 360 demo and old Explorer guitars and no problems in the demo).

I'm saving my money for Rock Band and DLC. GH3...is just something to tide me over for another 24 days so I'm not spending for DLC nor new guitars.

I could overlook all of GH3's minor imperfections, but the note charts are just *so* bad that gameplay suffers tremendously. My skillset favors ho-po heavy sections, of which there are way too few, and even fewer on hard difficulty.

Having said that, I don't have a problem with fans of GH3... just because my opinion is a certain way does not preclude others from having a different opinion.

The new Les Paul controller is amazing btw. :D

I tried it with the demo too on 360 with the xplorer...had the same problem...but good luck to you!

Overall, I'm looking forward to finally playing the full version of GHIII tonight. This iteration of the series looks to be the weakest, but it's still a Guitar Hero game. Oddball notecharts and silly additions like Battle Mode are not going to prevent me from having a blast rocking out on my pretend guitar to an amazing tracklist. It's not as good as it could have been, but it's still fun.

PS-I had the same strumming problem with the Xplorer in the demo. Crossing my fingers that the Les Paul compensates for it.

PPS-If we think this version of Guitar Hero feels weird, think how odd it must be for Harmonix to play someone else's version of a game they created from scratch.
