I looked around the forums and couldn't find an answer to this question.
If I don't want to buy the mic, can I use my regular Xbox 360 headset to sing?
Thanks for any replies :-)

I remember reading somewhere that the 360 headset wouldn't be used as a mic because it is generally pretty low-quality. I wonder if standard USB headsets would work, though.

You sure can, Rock Band will support the headsets. It should also work with most any USB mics/headsets.

So it's been confirmed by Harmonix officially?

banging the headset against your hand may get hard for the tambourine/cowbell sequences.
psst guys don't tell him he can just make a plosive sound.

For a headset you can get the 'bang' probably by doing a sharp puff of air into the thing. It's not motion sensitive, it won't know the difference between a bang and any other burst of noise.
However, I thought stock X-Box Live headsets wouldn't work because they're too low fidelity..? Has this changed? I know they said more generic USB headsets (like Karaoke Revolution came with) would work...
