I want to hear you say it, that we are safe for having chosen your game and downloaded your DLC! I'm watching the Tivo'd broadcast and they claim RB2 is an XBOX exclusive. Now, I can't tell if it's only the 360 release date or if its your entire franchise from this point further, but I want some answers as your loyal customer.

The threads have been done. Just accept it. XBOX will get it in September, the rest of the console in October or November. Contracts and deals have already been signed, HMX probably can't change their minds on this point, so complaining won't help. They will decide on the dates when feasible, there will be no responses from HMX to this post.

It's just an exclusive earlier release. It's not been announced yet how much earlier (rather, it hasn't been announced how much later PS3, PS2, Wii version will release.).

Why does everyone blame HMX? I know the story as I have read it many times before now out of the mouths of Microsoft. See they pay for this exclusive. If you paid attention to the Microsoft Spot light, the guy from Microsoft between the lines said this.

However not to start nothing, but you should be blaming Sony. They need to step up as I have never seen a console lose so many exclusives as they have. A lot of developers are choosing to make Xbox 360 an exclusive first because they have the biggest Install base.

I feel for the PS3 people, but put the blame where it should be which is the maker of your machine. Now that Final Fantasy is no longer exclusive to Sony, if they do not do anything they are going down hill.

No, you're not right. Xbox and Playstation are both great systems only Xbox has some better games and has been out longer so logically has a greater quantity of games. PS3 is more of a multi-media entertainment system supporting Blu-ray disc and all the rest of it (just read wikipedia or something for more info). I don't regret my choice in consoles. At least it's not the Wii. Plus, we don't have to buy those microsoft points or whatever they are. The PS Store just siphons cash straight from your credit card and you're done. I like that. Rant-diddly-rant! peace and love.

Plus another $170 for the game bundle, plus another $300 to get all the DLC again... no thanks. I have a PC, PS3, PSP, and iPod Touch with 2.0 firmware... that's enough gaming devices for me :)

Actually, Sony did take it... since they own about a third of Square-Enix. Not sure what's going on there, but I think even they felt like the amount of money Microsoft was [allegedly] offering for a port made up for the loss of exclusivity. HMX is still the same, but the game is produced by MTV... do u trust them not to sell out? and also, all this extra cash their getting isnt going into their wallet, its going towards the game. Securing more big bands and paying for more man hours of work etc etc.

First of all, I watched the Microsoft Press Conference when it premiered AND when it reaired later that night and I can tell you that A-Rig said Rock Band 2 "premieres exclusively on the Xbox 360". The key word there is premieres. Premiering exclusivly is different from being exclusive. Not to mention the fact that HMX has already talked about this in great deal and said that it will come out on all platforms by the end of the year. Do some research before you get angry next time.

P.S. Blizzard's entire fanbase is on one platform (PC) so I don't see how you can say that they remain "loyal" to all their fanbase. All they have to do is release their game for PC and their only fanbase is covered. They don't have to juggle developing for warring consoles, etc.

think the xbox exclusivity has to do with outside the US as many parts of the world just wont get RB1 for ps3 at all, but will get for xbox360. and yes you are screwed, which is why after playing this game on ps3 i bought a 360 jus tto play this game on and any future rhythm games as well.

I've been thinking the same thing. I do wonder why the 360 gets more advantages than the PS3, and as an owner of the PS3, yes it's annoying, and frustrating that we can't get everything at the same time, but HMX takes the money from Microsoft... Idk, nothing bad about HMX, they're a great company, and I'm pulling for them over Activision and all of those other companies they're against, but if I were them, I wouldn't take money over equeality between systems. I honestly think the best thing to do (which I know it's too late to do it now) would be to bring the PS3 date back to the 360 date, that way the 360 people are happy because they're getting it when they were supposed to, and the PS3 people are happy because they're getting it before originally planned. I know no changes can be made as of now, but it is frustrating as a PS3 owner. I honestly don't understand what makes the 360 such a priority other than money.

I know that Nick.. but the whole time-exclusive hit most Playsation owners (and myself) hard man.. I personality felt like all the trust,respect,and satisfaction to have a company like theirs be so giving to their fanbase/community would do this to part of their loyal fans, It's something I really can't forget.

The Xbox has a firm, HMX announced release date. The rest of the consoles don't have any indication, and the best reports I've seen have vacillated on release dates for peripherals/games. This indicates that they are behind on developing for these consoles. The blame here could lie either in the producer's or the developers hands.

But as a PS3 user, it does seem like we have been consistently left as an afterthought. Not only do we receive DLC two days later but we still have issues with the microphone since the 1.03 update that have gone unresolved, and have practically received no response on it, even to say that they have abandoned updating/patching Rock Band so that they can develop for RB2. At least tell us the issue won't exist in RB2.

The point being, since we have two issues, at least one of them the developer is directly responsible for (the mic bug), it seems that the developer doesn't take us as seriously as the Xbox base.

I'm hoping this issue will be fixed for RB2, so that I can at least import RB1 music and finally finish off expert vocals. But as much as I love Rock Band and heavily invested in it, this seriously affects my decision to buy.

I also own a Wii, and waited as long as I could to see if I could get the Wii version instead (I play the vast majority of my games on it, and prefer it to PS3), but once I found out that it was feature limited, I opted for the PS3 version. As much as I enjoyed the original Xbox, I don't have one good reason to invest in the Xbox 360, there are no games I want to play on it. So please don't suggest that I spend the considerable amount of money to ditch my PS3 in favor of the XBox 360 for an issue that I shouldn't be dealing with in the first place.

At the risk of repeating myself, as an adult, I don't have a problem waiting two months for the new release, especially if we see some of the premium instruments for the PS3 before the RB2 release.

During those two months, we'll continue to get DLC and be able to play the game we're already accustomed to playing. When you think of how much DLC we've seen in the last 60 days and how much we're likely to see in the next 60 days, we'll easily have 300-350 songs by the time RB2 hits on our platform...then get 84 more all at once.

My only issue is that I think HMX should use the two months (or whatever) to make sure that both platforms are equal. No more ignoring PS3 OS features that the 360 has had from the get-go. Once we get it, I want not only the bells & whistles of RB2 running smooth as silk, but I want voice chat capability and friends met. As another proud and satisfied PS3 owner, I'd like to echo what DesiredFX said.

It's not that I don't understand what being excited about a new release and counting the days means, I know it all too well as my long-suffering family will be happy to attest to, but really, we need to get our panties unknotted here.

Yes, the XBOX 360 version releases a bit earlier than the PS3 version. Yes, I wish it weren't so. No, it doesn't really bother me all that much. I already have games that I don't have time to play and, more importantly, if I need a quick music fix, I still have the original Rock Band to get me through the night. It's not like something horrible is going to happen the day the XBOX version launches that makes me suddenly lose all interest in my "old" Rock Band.

One version is going to be finished before the other, and at this point HMX can either hold back the first one until the others are ready too (that'd be somewhat silly to have a launch-ready product collecting dust on the shelves) or they can hurry up the process by porting it more or less directly to the other consoles. I don't know about you, but having played "direct ports" myself, I'd rather they didn't. Also, there is a possibility that some issues come up with the lucky first release that they'll then have time to correct before the PS3 version launches. At "worst", it'll be the same game, at best, it'll be slightly better. Either way, no skin off of my nose.

Assuming that this is the case, and I honestly don't know, nor do I care much, so what? That's how a free market works. If it's a problem, take it up with Sony, since nobody but Sony is keeping Sony from entering the bidding wars too. Unless, of course, in the hypothetical situation that Microsoft offered a big fat bundle of cash to HMX for getting their version first, you expect HMX to say "sorry, we really don't want to make money, that wouldn't be fair."

Not only would that be ******ed, it would also be counterproductive for all of us. The more money HMX makes, the more likely it is that the franchise will continue and continue to get better, which obviously is a Good Thing for all of us fans, no matter what console we might own.

Finally, and this is the cynic in me speaking, can't seem to get him to keep quiet ;) , having the XBOX 360 owners play with it for a month or two before we get it gives us a perfect opportunity to see if the game lives up to all the hype before parting with our sweet, sweet cash. How is that a Bad Thing? No, I'm not saying that I expect RB2 to not live up to its own hype, given HMX's track record I'm quite confident that it will, I just like to not be the "paying beta-tester" for once. Heaven knows I've done that enough with every new incarnation of Windows :D

Not to be a fanboy here because trust me I am no fanboy. Did you watch the E3 Microsoft conference? Sony is droping the ball left and right.

Microsoft is claiming numbers being backed up by HMX and Activison, that 80% of all Music downloads are being downloaded on Xbox Live.

80 PERCENT!!! Now you know why HMX is making sure the MS partnership stays intact.

Also some of what MS announced today the big bomb being Sony loses yet another exclusive in Final Fantasy 13 will now be on the 360.

Sorry Sony fans but business is business and the 360 is where Activison and HMX make thier money.

Based on all the issues with the PS3 version of RB1 that were made worse by a patch and never re-patched even to this date, I finally lost all faith in the PS3 version ever being brought up to the same level of quality as the 360 version. As a result I don't see RB2 being any different, so I decided to "jump ship" before I spent even more money on PS3 DLC.

While I only have the guitar and mic right now since I'm waiting for the RB2 bundle, I'm currently enjoying RB1 with the ability to use the GH guitar (main reason I got Aerosmith), voice chat, no wiggly arrow or mic lag/quality issues, Loading Additional Content takes 2 seconds instead of 20, and no scroll lag whatsoever!

You know, I take back what I said.

But really, a 256 player FPS is something to wow about.

As a player of Battlefield 2 and other PC fps games, it is really frustrating to not have many FPS games on the 360 support more players than 16-18 (or less).

On BF, I won't join a server if it has less than 40 players. I do wish MS would find a way to pump up the amount of players in a game.
