500 songs not out of reach like some people think

500 songs is not out of reach. Rock Band came out November 20th and in 35 weeks (counting the week it came out, because there was 15 DLC when it was released) they have given us 172 DLC songs (counting todays Who 12 pack). There is currently 230 total songs for Rock Band. Another 84 coming on RB 2 disc and 20 DLC with its release. That gives us 334. We can take away a few because HMX said that MOST but not all RB 1 disc songs could be exported. So, lets take away 14 to give us a even 320. That gives HMX 24 weeks to give us 180 DLC songs. That averages out to 7.5 songs a week the rest of this year. If you take the last 2 months of DLC which is 60 songs and divide it by 8 weeks you get 7.5 songs a week. So we will likely see 500 songs.

I think we might see more than 500 total songs, though. I predict quite a few albums coming out.

I'm thinking we have multiple full albums they have done waiting to be released, that's just a guess of mine - but if Harmonix is saying 500 by the end of the year, nobody would know better than them & they obviously have a ton of stuff in the vault. :)

DLC is a cash cow that won't stop. It's in Harmonix's best interests to keep releasing songs, and with the schedule you laid out, I predict many more "packs" coming, and weeks over the "3 song per week" rule that they laid out when they started.

Appetite For Destrustion would be a great selection, but since Axl's choice was Shacklers Revenge for RB2, He will want Chienese Democracy to be DLC the same day as his CD drops

^^ That's probably true. Either way though, with Axl and GNR supporting Rock Band, this may mean we can get a bunch of Guns N Roses songs for DLC!

Remember when everybody was talking about "Welcome to the Jungle" being in the beta for Rock Band almost a year ago and how it would NEVER see the light of day? Hmmm... lol

Oh also, to stay on topic - don't forget that there's a bunch of Madden 09 tracks coming to Rock Band in the coming weeks as well - this could mean August may be 3+ song weeks
