Uhh? If they are exclusive, why is Battery in Rock Band 2? I'm confused. Exactly how "exclusive" are they? I don't get how that works.

Metallica isn't one of the exlusive bands. I just think they're getting a lame game out of it. From what I've heard around forums etc. is that Metallica is still in talks and stuff with both companies, likewise the speculation of a possible Metallica DLC album for Rock Band as well.
I never heard they were exclusive.

I can't remember if that E3 speaker said they were exclusive, but I hope not. Last I heard, Metallica still has a deal to at least release one new song for RB, which would make the exclusitivity announcement rather, you know, wrong. :)

half asleep here, but cant pass out for the life of me. So bear with me.
I believe the way they worded it was that the new album's release, in its entirety, will be exclusive to GH3 when the cd releases, and GHWT when it the game drops. The band itself is not exclusive to them. Nor do I think the tracks (singles) off the new cd carry the exclusive tag. We will see more Metallica, I'm sure. We just wont be getting the entire new CD.

Yeah, Metallica is not exclusive to either franchise. They may have exclusive deals set up regarding certain releases, but other than that I'd expect plenty more Metallica for both franchises.

Like others have said, Metallica loves money a little too much to remain exclusive to one franchise, and really it's better for not just them but fans too, bands that are giving exclusivity to the GH series piss me off, and I'm not really a GH hater, I just think they're signing contracts without realizing what a big medium for music this format is becoming.

If Metallica is exclusive to Guitar Hero why did:
Enter Sandman appear on Rock Band 1.
...And Justice for All, Blackened, & Ride the Lightening appear as RBDLC.
Battery appear on Rock Band 2.
You should realize they are not by now.

There was something about the new album yes, but I think that for most of us we want to play the oldies. I am one for sure.. oh and did I tell everyone that I am off to see Iron Maiden live next week:cool:

The GH guy at E3 didn't say 'exclusive'. If they had Metallica exclusively they would have made a big point of it like they did for Van Halen. They said they were teaming up with Metallica in "a big way." I'm sure we'll get more Metallica DLC down the line.

It would be cool to see GH exculsively have all of Metallica's content from the Load album to St. Anger so we won't be stuck playing those songs on Rock Band :)
