I've found the 360's Official Usb Hub , i have to say i like the fact its so small.
Taken from 1up (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3164041)
"When Rock Band ships next month, you'll quickly realize there aren't enough USB slots on Xbox 360 to accommodate the load of peripherals that need to be jacked in for the whole experience. Given the PlayStation 3 features four accommodating USB ports, this extra step won't be necessary there.
1UP was recently shipped the finalized Rock Band peripherals, including the USB hub accommodating. We haven't had enough time with the hub to determine how well it holds up -- up until now, we've been using a separate hub that was delivered with an earlier version of the game, but isn't part of the bundle on Xbox 360 -- but we can't say we're happy about having yet another device that needs to plug into the wall, especially considering the hub's limited length.
The hub's made by a company called ViPowER, and while it's a little disheartening that we can't find any reviews of the other USB hubs they make, here's hoping we don't have to search out our own replacement hubs a few weeks after launch. We'll keep you posted."

z0mfGz! Will find!
Well back on topic the length combined with the chunktacular AC input disappoints.

i loved silent hill 4's story :D
ehem, to stay on topic, i also like how small it is, should work out fine. How will 40gb ps3 owners deal with it, they only have 2 usbs, but there isn't a hub in the ps3 version is there?

Not thrilled about the bulk AC adapter it needs, but whatever. I'll sacrifice anything for Rock Band (within reason :p)

Aww, I never beat SH4... still need to do that. Loved the other ones though, especially SH3. It was the scariest. :D
Anyway, the hub looks pretty cool... for a hub.
Nice Samsung and Elite 360, 1up!

Agh.. That thing is tiny (both a plus and a negative)! The small size gives it no room for it's own power intake system, hence the AC wall-plug -- ick. I think I'll just keep the hub the bundle comes with as a collector's item and go out and buy the green/white Nyko USB hub (http://nyko.com/Store/ProductDetail.aspx?i=78) (which definitely goes better with my green 360 than that white piece of plastic and extra cord).

ARRGGHH!!!! NO! BAD NYKO INTERCOOLER! BAD! BUMBOUSDUDE25 SMASH NYKO INTERCOOLER INTO PIECES!
Oh, sorry, you said Nyko USB Hub. Well then. Let me tell you something from personal experience.
Anything that plugs into your 360 that isn't standalone (doesn't have its own power source) is not good for your 360.
Trust me, just live with the hub that comes with the bundle. It really won't be that big of an issue.

Yeah, I was going to make a point that I'd never be caught dead buying the Nyko Intercooler (if ever I'd buy an external fan, I'd go for the yet to be released black/Elite Pelican Pro Cooler), but chose against it.

Ah, I see. :)
But I looked up the Pro Cooler, and it doesn't look standalone... Looks the same as the Nyko, in fact, just with AV inputs and a USB hub. Is that true? I mean, is it standalone?

I was just going to say that I bet it needs its own electricity.

The hub having a power cord would have been enough to get me to switch my reserve to PS3, except I have an X-Plorer I'm going to use as bass.

Actually, no. I don't really have many outlets left and my power bill is high enough already. Obviously it's a small thing, but add a wireless guitar and free online play and you've got yourself a lot of reason to go with ps3. The X-plorer and the vastly superior online servive through the 360 are keeping my reservation where it is.

Having a powered hub doesn't draw any more power, it just means the power comes straight from the wall, instead of through your console, heating it up in the process.
I guess if it's the tipping point, then this could be a reason, but this is probably the smallest gripe anyone could have with the game.

Does anyone know whether this same kind of self-powered hub will be required for the newer 40GB PS3 owners that only have two USB ports? Or can the PS3 crank out enough juice by itself that 40GB owners would be able to buy a generic hub?
It's not an issue to me, I already have an older PS3 model, but some people seem sure that this means the 360 can't generate enough power and needs a little help, but the 40GB will be immune to this since it will somehow generate more electrical power and doesn't need the help of the power cable...

All USB carries the same power. Each port has 5V at 500mA. To have a non-powered hub, all devices attached to it must be "low power" and draw less than 100mA. Powered hubs supply 500mA to all connected devices. I assume the bundled hub being powered means the peripherals are NOT "low power", and thus require powered hubs.

Thanks for the explanation that's good enough for me, and it makes sense. It doesn't seem to have convinced some of the fanboys I know, sadly. They're still insisting that the 40GB will not required a powered hub because it'll generate more electricity and this is just another admission of the 360's inferiority since they couldn't build it to provide the extra juice they're certain the 40GB will provide sans cable.

That makes me lol. While it's true that using all the USB ports will increase the power consumption (and heat) of the console, USB is Universal. It's the same everywhere.
