I like to play Co-Op with a buddy. It a great excuse to get together with an old friend and drink a few beers and enjoy an evening. We alternate playing Bass/Guitar. During the Co-Op Campaign mode on Guitar Hero III I have noticed that the bass track does not stand out of the mix as well as it did in Guitar Hero 2. The only time it really stands out with when Star Power in engaged and it sounds more distorted then anything. Has anyone noticed this?
I am running Optical out of my 360 into my receiver. I am using 5.1 Dolby (same set up for GH 2). I tried turning up my sub and still could not improve the Bass volume.
Any one else? It's just not as fun without hearing the bass a little clearer.......

I did notice the bass is quite quiet, i guess they wanted the guitar to stand out. Only one more of my complaints about the game, leave it to neversoft to make a game like guitarhero sub-par in many areas, luckily the game ended up okay, but sadly not amazing, but yes the bass is annoyingly quiet

the only song the bass really is quiet on is the Alice Cooper song to me. Every other song has a nice punchy or boomy bass (Bulls on Parade, Lay Down are two good examples).
I've got optical out of the 360 into a Creative DTS-100 Dolby 5.1 decoder unit and from there into 5.1 Klipsch digital PC speakers. Almost have to turn the bass down a little, but the cool thing is it isn't mushy or ruining the mix, it's nice and tight and easy to distinguish from the guitar (a lot easier to me than GH2).
I think everyone is going to have different opinions on this because hearing is like tasting, seeing, etc...really opinionated and rarely factual lol. (and starter of a lot of arguments like $R#@$@# YOU DRAGONFORCE SOUNDS WAAAY BETTER THAN QUEENS OF THE DUMB AGE!!!)
