I have to say that the game was better then I expected from the different developers. However, I know that if Harmonix were still developing it, the game would have been a lot better.
Things I did not like about it:
- Sluggish Responses From Guitar > Game
- Improved Noob keys...increases time you have to strum a note (annoyingly long)
- Character animations / art (the singer's mouth is freakishly huge)
- Another thing about the animation...the drummer looks like a robot, they didn't put a days worth of work into it.
Things I did like about it:
-Excellent tracklist, in fact...spectacular songs! Black Magic Women is very soothing to play
-Battle mode is very addicting, and different way of playing the game. For the most part however, I play Pro-face off
-Haven't messed with online play too much, but from what i've done it's very smooth...no lag problems. (got totally owned in an expert pro-face off "The Metal - Tenacious D")

Overall I think the game was pretty good. I think Rock band has a lot more potential and I know it will be a smooth game once it's finished.
personally, I think a lot of people will diss rock band only because the ignorant people have no idea it's made by the same company that made Guitar Hero I,II. Irregardless, I'm sure the game will take off well :)
The only thing I think Guitar Hero has over Rock Band is their setlist (personal likes), and the noobs that still have no idea it's made by another company.
