Hi Guys,
Just wondering if anyone can answer a couple of questions I have. I'm writing from Australia (that's right "The Land down under"). I'm really upset that we have to wait at least until Jan 08 for the release here in Oz. We don't even have a set date yet just 1Q 08. As you can imagine I don't want to wait and am thinking about getting one of my mates in "The States" to pick the game up and send it to me here in Australia. What I'm wondering is if I do get it sent over will it work on my 360? I went to my local EB games store and they said they think it should run but they're not sure. There are a few issues I'm worried about, the first being if it will run on my TV as we use PAL as standard here and the other concern is will my 360 even be able to run the game disc as I'm not sure if they region code these things or not? If anyone can give me some idea about the above concerns that would be great.
Cheers

Same problem here in the UK. The only way you'll be able to get it to work is if you manage to find an importer that can supply a region unlocked copy - and I haven't found one yet! I'd imagine your TV will handle NTSC so that shouldn't be a problem.

I am chancing it & getting a copy sent from the US because I figuer that I have 3 possible outcomes
1) It works fine on my UK 360 & all will be right in the world while I ROCK my heart out :D
2) it does not work & I sell my UK 360 & buy a US one (as most of my games are region free or US import anyway), this wont be to bad but not as good as option :o 1 & lastly
3) I cant sell my xbox or find a US console so I will just sell Rock Band on ebay (as much as this would pain me  )& make a bit of money in the process.
But I still struggle with why it is taking so long for Rock Band to be come out outside the US as i cant see any reason for the delay  but there must be a good reason (just coz I dont see it). I just hope to compensate non americans they dont region lock it so we at least get are hands on it sooner rather then later.

I think that fact that they can't get seperate instrument sales out until next year either is probably a big hint.
While I am not happy that I can't play until next year, I don't think it's any big secret why.

Thanks for the feed back guys. I was pretty sure it would work on my TV! I just wish someone from EA of Harmonix could let us know if it's region coded or not.

If it's region free for Xbox 360, I'm importing this as soon as humanly possible. I don't care how much it costs. *Fingers crossed*

Ok first things first I am sure you will not see the game in Oz until at least March. None of the wholesalers work in jan. Then by the time everyone has woken up it will take at least a month to get that big box around.
Don't think you will get it in jan or feb as i think it will be way to hard for the logistics of EA

I have the same problem. Actually I have more problems, since I can't even decide if I buy the 360 or the Ps3 version, but well, maybe you have more problems, since when the 360 version is not regionfree you can't import the game at all.
So, yeah, not every 360 game is regionfree (although Bioshock, Orange Box, Jericho, PGR4 and Guitar Hero 3 are all regionfree!), you have to wait and see if it will be regionfree.
If it will be regionfree, you can play it on your 360. I think it will work on your "PAL" TV, but I'm not 100% sure, what I know is, that it will work on your TV if you use an HDTV. (Which you should use for full enjoyment)
The other problem is DLC. That's my problem at the moment.
HMX will probably not release the DLC outside of the US Marketplace and PSN Store, because they game is not released outside of the US.
I'm currently figuring out if it is possible to access the US PSNStore or Us Marketplace with an european PS3 or Xbox 360.
I was able to create an US PSN Account so far but my creditcard won't work. I'll think of other solutions or maybe try out to create an US XBL Account.
Stay tuned... maybe...

I'm an aussie too and also importing the game, I'm getting it for PS3 though so i know it will run (not 100% on the DLC though)
Anyway, just thought I'd say that it's probably best if you buy it from an online retailer and get it shipped directly to you rather than have a friend but it and send it to you. It's a hell of a lot cheaper this way.
When gamestop wouldn't accept my credit card i looked into having a friend in the US buy it for me and mail it to me but it would cost like $80 more.

I managed to create a US Xbox account, the only 2 problems I faced was a Zip/Post code (which I ended up using a family members) & getting to setup a hotmail.com email account as it kept on changing to co.uk (dont know why) I just log out fully changed a few settings on my laptop to think it was in the US & it worked fine. You dont need a credit card to register & you can get US points of ebay & someother places this also works out cheaper, I pay about £22 for 4000 points. I hope this helps DLC should not be a problem I have not had any trouble with games, demos or DLC only the TV & movie stuff but I dont want that stuff anyway.:D
