At their press conference last night, Activision dropped a lot of info on upcoming music game Guitar Hero World Tour. Please enjoy the news, in hand, bullet-pointed form:
* Rock Band's instruments peripherals will work with Guitar Hero World Tour--at least on the Xbox 360. That means 360-owners won't be stuck with two sets of fake drums and a million plastic guitars in their house.
* A robust slate of downloadable content is planned for Guitar Hero World Tour, including full album downloads.
* The games music studio allows users to collaborate on tracks, and then share them as DLC with any Guitar Hero player who wants to check them out.
* World Tour's drum set features an extra pad over Rock Band, and also allows you to plug a midi-enabled drum-set in to the game so you can beat your own skins.
* Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker and Paramore lead singer Hayley Williams announced as in-game characters.
In short: The console war between PS3, 360 and Wii is officially replaced with the platform war between Rock Band and Guitar Hero! Feel free to discuss which music game pwns and with suxxor in our comment section!

THAT. IS. AWSOME.
There are a couple of other threads where we have been discussing how cool it would be for ION to release a seperate drum brain that we can plug our e-kits into (lots of ppl with Roland kits around here).
Sounds like GH:WT will have a midi port somewhere that we can just plug our kits into. That will be way better then having to unplug all the individual pads every time you want to switch brains.
I hope ION is listening.

I'll let this phrase speak for itself...

Sounds kinda neat.
All GH talk to be kept in the General Forum though.

Wow, being able to hook my Roland TD-10's into GH:WT would be unbelievable.

It would be nice if Sony enforced standardization.
