View Full Version : Leaderboard Ties

I searched through 5 pages of searches and still can't find this. Does anyone know how the leaderboard works concerning ties?
All I wanted was to get in the top 10-15 on one song. We I actually did it. I was #12 or 13 on one, and it was like that for a couple weeks. I go and look today and I'm down to #20. All the scores are the max score.
Does anyone know how this is calculated? It's odd cause someguy never & Sevens never move from #1/2. I always used to think that it went by first come first served type of thing, but that's obviously not it.
Thanks in advance for the help! Hopefully someone knows the answer. I'll keep searching in the meantime.

Maybe they are higher up because their career scores are higher?

Can one of the Harmonix people shed some light on this? I've heard so many different things, and I've tried some suggestions, but the rankings don't move.
There is no rhyme or reason to the leader board rankings, once you max out and get the highest possible score. Here are the different suggestions I have received on this forum and on one other forum.
1. It goes by first come first serve ranking - The first person to get the top score is at the top.
==If this were true, then I would still be at #13. I was at 13 or there about for over a month.==
2. It goes by career score total.
==If this were the case then someguy would be #1. He has a lot more points than Sevinz, who is currently ranked #1.==
3. It is constantly being update. If you get that high score again, you will be bumped up to the top.
==After looking at the first two, this one seemed like the most logical (even though I never hit #1 the first time I hit the max score). It had to be it. So last night I sat down and played. After 15 tries I was finally able to hit the max score again (and that's why sqeezing isn't fun! That was 15 FC's). Right after the song it connected to the Rock Band database. I waited till this morning hoping that the updates were just slow, but it still didn't work. I’m still sitting nicely at #20.==
It really isn't a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but it would be nice to know exactly what is going on. Yeah I have the top score so it really shouldn't matter, but all I've wanted was to be on the first page of just one song and I lucked out and was able to do it....That's the whole point of the leader board is to have bragging rights (even if it is just to my 10 year old kid :)).
I really don’t enjoy squeezing, and that’s the whole point of me only wanting to do it for one song. I don’t see myself figuring out how to do it properly on other song. I just don’t care enough about it to focus on it more than I have. If I get gold stars on the other songs, then I am more than happy.
If I can get a reply from a mod, or someone at Harmonix who knows the answer to this, I would be very grateful.

It could just be the order the users were created (ie the typical database "unspecified" order).

Thanks Dharkanjil. That's pretty much all we are left with :). That would make more sense though, cause I got the game pretty late overall.
