In before lock.

You seriously do not own a PS2, PS3 or 360?

Failure....

1. How many PC's have a screen big enough to house notes for everyone?

2. As soon as a label's music gets even hinted at touching a PC, they turn white with horror because you KNOW someone will find a way to pirate it.

3. The reason consoles whoop PC's nowadays in terms of gaming is because consoles have just as powerful components, but it is all gamin dedicated. Even if you closed out everything on your PC, you still have background tasks due to your OS. If you plugged 4 people in, it would either over heat your processor or bog down your memory.

I don't mean to flame, but your points are a little misguided. There's no reason Rock Band couldn't work on the PC.

1. Mine. Also, many HDTVs have a PC-in port to allow you to use your HDTV as a monitor.

2. Oh, you mean like iTunes? Yeah, most labels hate that lousy PC program.

3. You do understand that your 360 (I'm going out on a limb here) has an OS running in the background, just like your PC?

Consoles excel at party games, sports titles, and 3D action/adventure. PC's are by far the better system for FPS, MMORPGs and strategy games. A game like Rock Band could be played on either system just fine.

And as for your console having "just as powerful components" as a gaming PC, take a look at Crysis for a moment. Just make sure your 360 isn't in the room when you watch any Crisis videos. Instant RRoD.

Ditto. I wouldn't buy it for PC, just because I can't imagine trying to sit 4 people in front of my computer. Living rooms just work better.

Funny that you mention computer screens not being big enough...'cause I personally play my 360 on a 17" non-widescreen LCD computer monitor. :P Sure, might not be ideal for Rock Band, but I'm sure it'll be playable.

I dunno..I'd like to see a PC version of Rock Band...I wouldn't play it, personally, 'cause my PC sucks for gaming now, but it'd still be nice. A Mac version, too, even. ^-^

And piracy wouldn't be that big of a deal...'cause you'd still have to buy the instruments, unless you wanna use a keyboard, which wouldn't be as fun. :P

i dont know about you guys, but ive noticed more and more people are starting to hook up their computers to their HDTVs to use as a all in one entertainment unit. the HDTVs i see all have vga inputs for PCs and most people go one step further and use dvi to hdmi cables and use the tv's hdmi port. it works quite well. i do the same thing and that's why the web browser on my ps3 never gets used because i use the PC on my tv when im feeling lazy and want to surf the net lying down.

If you have your PC and a PS3 connected to the TV, you don't need RB on your PC :p

Seriously, though, everyone I know who has a PC connected to their TV also has a gaming console connected.

I wish I had longer to explain my points, but I'm at work so I have quick bursts.

1. They have to think of the majority out there. HDTV hasn't reached full market penetration yet and tube monitor's rarely got bigger than 17". Those that did were and are still easy to burn in.

2. Apple had to sign a lot of agreements and charge up the izzazz (99 cents a song? wtf?) to appease label companies. There are still label companies out there who refuse to put songs up on itunes or zune marketplace for fear of their "babies" being taken without permission. Same for Zune Marketplace. Both formats are also hard to crack and the way you do crack them make it oh so obvious that you are a haxorz p!rat3!!11!!1!1!

3. Yes, but it would take a beast to run RB (a game) and Vista (a multi-purpose OS) at the same time. The background processes in Vista are not designed to run as little as possible when a game is playing. The 360 OS was designed to do just that; run an easy to use OS that goes away when it has to.

4. I know that you could run it on PC. I was approaching from a business perspective in that Harmonix wouldn't make a profit if they did put it on PC. It was hard enough to get licenses for what they do have. Throw in a machine that is notorious for pirating, it may have made it harder. Plus the de-bugging would bog down the project due to the limitless number of configs out there.

From a business stand point, releasing it for PC would not be profitable.

it is in no way practical. I hope HMX wouldn't waste their time bringing it to PC

luckily im not in the same boat as the OP. my guess would be people that want it for PC because they dont own a next gen console and dont want to pay the money for one title.

i played games on PC way back in the day and hated it because it always seemed like you needed to upgrade your computer to play it on the recommended settings.

Well actually, I own a wii (lol).

Anyways a PC version shouldnt need everyone to be sitting in front of the same computer, everyone could have their own copy of the game or whatever.

And yes it would be profitable because I would trade 72 gazillion dollars and my dignity for it.

So here it goes again:

Please!!!

EDIT: Probable locking of this thread is clear discrimination and repression of the PC gaming community, myself, and of propagation and continuity of rock in environments such as, but not limited to, the universe, parallel dimensions and others not herein mentioned for obvious sentence length difficulties.

Even though I have a very beefy gaming rig, I wouldn't buy this on the PC. I'd rather play Rock Band in my front room where there's a lot of space and not many things to knock over than play in my computer room where there's not much space and a lot of books, PC games, expensive computer parts, ect.

I could see people buying the PC version, but just not me. :)

Harmonix has already said (http://youtube.com/watch?v=gWIwTro0y5k) that that they don't think it's practical to put it on the PC simply because most PC monitors have very small screens which wouldn't be ideal for the game. They didn't, however, necessarily rule it out entirely.

While many HDTVs do have a PC input, how many people have their gaming rig right next to their TV? I'd be curious to see the minimum specs for the game too, as that "other game" has posted theirs, and you need a pretty beefy rig to run the game very well.

i wouldnt have people over to play rock band on the same comp, i would host/go to a rock band LAN. but that would probably result in swapping songs illegally.
