Huge thanks to Harmonix for listening to fans and putting Maiden in the game!!!!!!
So good to see Maiden getting their due. Hopefully that's a sign that they're important enough to have more content made available.
Now, let's campaign for for DLC!!!!! :p
I think either Powerslave, Somewhere in Time, or Seventh Son would be beautiful choices for album DLC, or even a "best of" from all three albums.
It would be a perfect tie-in to Maiden's 2008 "Somewhere Back in Time Tour" in 2008, which will be material from those three albums:

Too perfect a promotional tie-in to pass up!
How bout it Harmonix?

I'd say Piece of Mind, Powerslave, and Seventh Son, but practically anything from Maiden would rock.

WRATHchild, WRATHchild. Don't make me rant again!
(For those who weren't here or don't remember I exploded at some members earlier this year for calling "Won't Get Fooled Again" "We Won't Get Fooled Again")

I know what it says, I just like mocking the cover singer from the GH80s version. :D

Paul Di'Anno sang it in a similar way (Although Bruce Dickinson sings very clearly "Wrath").
Anyways, it was not meant as a serious complaint, but I still get somewhat annoyed when I see wrong/misspelled track titles

Hey, don't push our luck here! I would be happy just to get their entire discography in covers, as long as they're decent. Besides, I'm going to be singing over it anyways, so I guess it really doesn't matter to me if they're covers

Aces High FTW!!! What a great track. Honestly, I hope we see a couple of Career Retrospective packs (like they're doing with Metallica). I'd love to see stuff like:
The Number Of The Beast
Aces High
Infinite Dreams
The Clairvoyant
The Wicker Man
Brave New World
The Trooper
Fear Of The Dark
Afraid To Shoot Strangers
Wasting Love
2 Minutes To Midnight
Wrathchild
Bring Your Daughter... To The Slaughter
Tailgunner
Where Eagles Dare
Rime Of The Ancient Mariner
Can I Play With Madness?
The Clansman
etc
Anyways, a good mix of Di'Anno/Dickenson/Blaze/Dickenson era would be a very welcome sight.

Whatever they choose. You can't go wrong with maiden. Unless it's Virtual XI. Then thats just cruel.

Virtual XI has one of the best Maiden songs ever on it, The Clansman! What a great tune. Of course, I'm of Scottish heritage, so I'm just a little biased... FREEDOM!
Okay, I'm done now. Seriously though, I think Virtual XI is a little underrated. Aside from "The Clansman" it's also got the great "The Angel And The Gambler". At any rate, it's still got a lot better songs and a lot more life than "The X Factor"

Dude... No. Blaze Bayley was like that girlfriend your best friend had but you didn't want to say anything because you didn't know if it was going to last. And then when he dumped her ass, you were like "Damn I'm glad you got rid of that *****."

^Up Yours Blaze-haters. The X Factor is easily up there with Seventh Son and Powerslave. You are all just too blind with Bruce-love to see it. If I recall correctly, the worst albums they did were with Bruce.......No Prayer for the Dying is far, far below the Blaze material and Fear of the Dark is alright......
Regardless, we want their whole discography, not just certain songs.
Having said that, please, please, please never put The Angel and the Gambler anywhere near anything unless its the radio edit...that chorus is horrible repeating what 13 times or something? Just awful, that song is their worst ever, along with being their worst music video.

Okay, the Chorus is repetitive, but I still like it. Guess I'm in a minority :(
Secondly I felt that "The X Factor" was missing the life out of it. I'm guessing it's because they were still adjusting to Blaze because "Virtual XI" was quite good and reminded me a lot of earlier Maiden stuff.
Finally, I feel that "Fear Of The Dark" is one of their best albums ever, it creates such a great atmosphere. But again, we're into personal opinion. "No Prayer For The Dying" was a major letdown and I would rank it with "The X Factor".
Anyways, I do agree with your statement that we want their entire discography. I would be in heaven if I was able to play Maiden for hours on end

Yeah. After getting a Maiden master in GH3, it's hard to go back to covers. It's just not the same at all without Bruce. I like the Trooper better than No. of the Beast, but it's just so much more satisfying with Bruce singing. He is Maiden, IMO.

Not exactly....Maiden is Steve Harris.
Nah, the band doesnt really work even if one of them is gone.

Theres nothing wrong with that, as long as you dont start going around bashing on Blaze, Paul or Janick unecessarily.
However, if you have no interest in Maiden without Bruce, then you are missing out on some of their best material ever written:
Phantom of the Opera, Sign of the Cross, The Clansman, Futureal, Lord of the Flies, Transylvania, Ghengis Khan, Murders in the Rue Morgue, Prowler, Prodigal Son.......etc etc etc
I think a good example that all of Maiden's material from all their eras is excellent is Rock In Rio, as they play quite a variety.
with Bruce singing. He is Maiden, IMO.
No, he isnt. Common misconception right there, the singer is not always the driving force behind a band and they are almost never the most vital part. Many legendary bands have still been great without their original/'best' singers.
As has been said, Maiden's sound comes from all sides, from Steve's excellent song-writing and bass playing to Nicko's drumming to the three amigos guitar licks.
Its pretty obvious every member contributes a lot to the bands sound, because when they have left its been very noticable. Adrian Smith was sorely missed in the 90s, but then Janick had his own unique sound which is just as good. Same when Clive Burr left after NOTB, the sound changed a bit between Clive and Nicko.
Anyways, I still push for their entire discography....its all good.

Yes he is...to me. I never claimed my statement as a universal fact or claimed he is the driving force. That's why I made sure to add "In my opinion" (IMO). Others opinions may differ, and I may be in the minority, but to me it's just not the same group with another singer.

This game NEEEEEDS more Maiden. Face it, the Run to the Hills cover is complete crap. HMX needs to put masters of full albums on DLC. I agree with several comments earlier that Bruce is THE voice of Maiden and i personally dislike Blaze and Paul, not just because I love Bruce's vocals, but that I don't just like their voices. I would instantly buy this game if any of my four favorite albums of theirs were put on DLC. So HMX! Please consider..
The Number of the Beast
Powerslave
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
Brave New World
Personally, I would crap my pants if Brave New World was playable because not only is it my favorite album by any musician of all time, but it was recorded in 2000 so all the masters would probably be usable.

Allow me to disagree with you on this. The "Run To The Hills" cover is pretty decent. No original by any stretch of the imagination, but decent (I also thought that "The Trooper" and "Wrathchild" were done pretty decently). Besides which, I'm going to be singing my heart out to it, so I'm not going to hear those vocals anyways.
Secondly, Maiden produced some decent stuff outside of Bruce. Songs like "The Clansman", "Wrathchild", "Phantom Of The Opera", "Prowler", "Man On The Edge" and "The Angel And The Gambler" (am I the only one who likes this song?:( ) all rival some of the best work done with Bruce. Take a listen to it and focus on the lyrics and not so much on the vocals and you'll see some really decent stuff in there.
Thirdly, while all the albums you mentioned range from good to amazing (haven't heard "Brave New World" yet except for a few songs here and there) I think "The Number Of The Beast" (the album) is vastly overrated and would much rather see masterpieces like "Piece Of Mind", "Somewhere In Time" or "Fear Of The Dark" over it. Personal opinion, so take it as you will.
Fourthly, weren't you the one who claimed that he/she wouldn't buy Rock Band now because of the crappy cover of "Run To The Hills"? Not trying to flame you or anything, but just trying to figure out why you're still here if you aren't buying the game anymore.

Please shut up, you are disgracing the name of a maiden fan and making us all look like elitist *****s. The Run to the Hills cover is fine, and was quite necessary because they were unable to get the master for whatever reason.
Blaze, Paul, Clive, Dennis, Janick - theyre all great musicians and I would love to see Iron Maiden, Killers, The X Factor or Virtual XI just as much as NOTB or AMOLAD.
Bah, we should be pushing for the entire discography, not just select albums - they are all good.

Yeah this game needs Bruce and Paul- Phantom of The Opera, Strange World, The Ides of March+Wrathchild, Killers, and Drifter. Bruce- The Trooper{no ****}, Be Quick or Be Dead, Hallowed Be Thy Named, Fear of The Dark, and The Loneliness of The Long Distance Runner. It would be pretty damn sweet to have some of the songs life to:D

Are you serious? How am I making Maiden fans look bad? Have you even listened to the cover?
Well anyway, like I said, its not that I don't like the music, it's that i don't like blaze or paul's voices. I'm not trying to bash them. They are talented singers. But as a fan of classic/power metal, I prefer high pitched vocals. And I fully agree that Janick is a ****ing amazing guitarist and all the flaming he gets really pisses me off. I also believe Dave Murray doesn't get alot of credit he deserves mainly because a ton of Maiden fans worship Adrian.
In my opinion, alot of bands you can cover decently, but Maiden isn't one of them. I would have preferred if they had chosen a song where they could have used a master track. I feel that Harmonix and Neversoft felt that they needed to use Maiden's two most "iconic" songs, Run to the Hills and Number of the Beast, because those are the ones most people know. It would have been cool if they had chosen a master track of a lesser known song that kicks ass. (Powerslave was my choice. The vocals, guitar, drums, and bass are all so unique in that song.)
I'm totally with you that we should push for their whole discography. I know that my opinions are not universal for all Maiden fans and I am DEFINITELY not trying to speak for every Maiden fan, but if we could get every album as DLC eventually, everyone would be happy! :)

Also, Piece of Mind is a masterpiece? Have you heard Quest for Fire?! I mean the whole second half of the album is basically filler. Also I am not a big fan of Somewhere in Time. So many of those songs besides Wasted Years are very mediocre. I would pay anything to play Brave New World! I think that if HMX does do a Maiden album they will do Powerslave, which would be freaking awesome, although I don't think I could play RotAM all the way through. But I could see Maiden asking Harmonix to do AMoLaD, to advertise the new album. I mean it would be disappointing, but there are some very quality songs on there so it wouldn't be too bad.
