I have a feeling they haven't taken out the ones they couldn't get licenses too because they're still ironing out the details. Likely they just put all of them in there so people could play 'em.

we can hope though right? also, who would want to play Rock Band 1 songs when you could play brandnew rock band 2 songs?

so do I. you aren't alone. I hope they are like the Ion cymbals, but I wouldn't mind what they look like. I just want them to jam to my MP3s!

The kit also includes three auxiliary outputs to which you can connect cymbals, currently under development by Mad Katz. They promise that the cymbals will be triggered differently than the traditional round pads, adding to your drum solo score
Hmmm... I'm not a leaderboard type of guy, but would that mean that the people who do try to get on the boards would have to buy the cymbals to be competitive? Or that it may be "easier" to GS a song ifyou have the cymbals?

Thanks for the pics! Check out image 21. Is that another port for a second kick pedal in the middle or just a fastener or something else?

i don't think that they literally mean drum score. I think they mean score as in coolness score. :D
or it could get you more points. thats just another reason for me to buy them.

But according to the article, they're still being developed by MadCatz. And considering they haven't released any info yet on their peripherals for the games yet, I'd say patience. At any rate, I'm getting the new kit. Even if they're not as quiet as I was hoping for, the additional cymbals will more than make up for that.

Thats dope. Even if you don't use the cymbals, maybe you can plug your headphones into the AUX output and hear yourself? That would be pretty cool.

Hmm, looking at this pic (http://www.engadget.com/photos/rock-band-2-hands-on-and-impressions/928014/) of the back of the stock RB2 drum set, I see 3 ports, green/blue/yellow for cymbals. I'm left-handed, so with lefty-flip on, my red pad is the cymbal, not green. I hope they account for that in the controller.
