I am a big rb fan boy but im sorry to say when i saw some vids of gh:wt game play and what there instruments do im like thinking as far as fetures on the guitar gh has rb beat but the ion and the madcatz drum set has the gh drum set look like somthin you pick up from toys r us. but for gh's first game with a drumset you have to give them credit. but anyway me im just gettin the drumset and game for rb2 nothing new with the guitar and i could care less about the mic and im getting the whole gh:wt bundle.

what do you guyz think about the instruments for gh and rb and which are you gettin or are you gettin both?

Seriously, the next time i have to try to decipher something like your post, im probably going to go blind.

Cost wise I am sticking with RB. Hard to dump all that DLC because "uber l33t extra button".

Actually, even though he didn't use punctuation, it was fairly readable, I thought. I've seen far, far worse on the internet. I'm not excusing it, just saying.

It doesn't matter about the instruments for GHWT for me. I simply don't like the Neversoft way of charting. I don't think it's very fun. Therefore, they could have the best fake instruments in the world but it still wouldn't be worth it to me. The plastic instruments don't make the game as much as the songs and the gameplay itself.

Salutations fellow forum-goers, I am admittedly rather smitten with our mutual preoccupation known less formally as "RB". Regrettably, having seen some cinematography of its erstwhile competitor, (or casually, "GH:WT") I have been adequately impressed with its guitar-playing facilities. While the competitor's drum hardware is indeed somewhat less flashy than what we are familiar with, they have done admirably for a first attempt. Regardless, I believe I may only indulge in the drum hardware for the sequel to our mutual hobby, ("RB") as there are no impressive developments with the microphone or guiltar. I might however have to indulge in the full array of our competitor's products to satisfy my curiosity.

So, esteemable comrades, what is your opinion of said hardware devices, and do you favour one over the other, or have you perhaps resolved to purchase both sets?

Personally, I think GH:WT is likely to overchart its songs pretty badly just like Neversoft did with GH3. I could care less about their hardware, as the only differences seem pretty gimmicky to me. (especially the fact that they seem to be putting as many inputs as possible onto each controller in order to ramp up the "challenge", rather than using interesting patterns in their charting) The music creator, while interesting, just means that the three or four talented musicians who play GH might manage to release something worth playing- but it won't have any lyrics to sing to, so I'm not really that interested anyway.

Ha! Wow your quote is undeniably full of win. So much so that that quote alone is = to 5 days in the life of Johnlok

One thing I'm wondering is, if the Rock Band 1 drums are compatible with GH:WT, how will it work for songs that use the 5th note? I haven't seen any details about it other than it will work.

Secondly, has there been any word that GH drums will work on Rock Band? I could see this being more likely since one pad simply wouldn't be used.

The drum charts in GH:WT will be compacted down if a RB drum set is plugged in

i wouldnt want the GHWT drums to work in rock band. Do you know how stupid its going to feel when you try a fill that carries across the set, but instead of playing all the notes across the "snare" and "toms" you have to go "snare", "hi-hat", "tom" "tom"

Yuck! It would feel dumb. Ill keep my 4 pads, with optional cymbals thank you very much.

OK, I could be a dick here and say "Rock Revolution? Roflmao epic failz noob!" but instead I'm just gonna point some stuff out... Rock Revolution is all covers, of which half of them have already been featured or will be featured in a music game. Sure, it has a freeform and music creator, but GH has both and RB has a freeform drum mode. The drums are unrealistic (all being put on a big square? What the hell is that???) and there are 7 of them, just to up the difficulty a little bit. The only plausible reason I can think for getting this game is to be a devout Konami fan or sticking it to Harmonix for apparently "ripping off" their games like Guitar Freaks and Drummania. And no, the debate doesn't end because you say so.

I find it's a much more pleasant way of dealing with people who I find painful to read, as it turns the entire experience fun ;)

I see your sarcasm detector is broken, good news though I hear they might include one in the RB2:special edition bundle.

Seven drums? Cool. So, when are they coming out with the double-neck guitar?
