I just got a Gamestop email today saying they're doing a special trade-in deal for RockBand through Nov. 11th. Here's all what it says:
In-Store Offer Only
Get your rock career started. Now through November 11, trade any games or accessories toward the reservation of Rock Band for Xbox 360, PS3 or PS2 and receive an extra 30% trade-in credit! Additional special offers and updated pricing can all be found on our Trade-In Values page. All trade-in offers are only valid in-store at your local GameStop. Some exclusions apply, see site for details.
30% extra credit seems pretty good (but I'm guessing it's only offered to people who have their special "More Card" game card) . Anyhoo, just thought I'd let everyone know.

Oh snap, good timing. I've got a stack of games I was going to take in this weekend. Thanks for posting this!

Let's see, an extra 30% on $0.25 would be.... $0.325. Sounds like a deal! :p

I traded my Wii for rockband + GHIII bundle. I haven't used the darn thing in months and there's nothing coming down the pipe that's gonna make me NOT play Rockband. I got 190 for it and I got it used for 220. Then there's all the other crap I bought with it... it was nice to not have to pay for either.
While I think that trading in games and stuff is a way for the game stores to make billions, it sometimes comes in handy.

If you are old enough, eBay is a much better way to get cash for old games.
I just sold my Wii with an extra controller set and 2 games for $400.
A couple months ago I sold an old N64 with 15 or so games for $130.

Yeah, I might go trade in some games myself, if not to pay it off just to knock the bill down a little bit.

Actually, the 30% is without the Edge card. If you have an Edge card (or sign up for one during the transaction) that actually brings the trade up to 40%. I work at GameStop, so it's my job to sell these cards, but yeah, they are actually really handy.

I'm gonna be smart and wait until like November 10th to do any trade-ins, reservations, or anything like that because I was quick to reserve GH3 at BB 'cause, I mean, come on, an awesome 'Leather' strap came with the deposit. But, then, a week before the game came out, I was told that there was a competition on the midnight release of GH3 at GameStop if I reserved it there and, guess what, I WON! See what I mean, if I jump to reserving it right away somewhere and paying it off and, outta freakin' nowhere, a awesome deal comes along or a tourney arises, then I have all this money down somewhere else and I'm screwed. Yeah, yeah, 30% off is awesome, but I'm not worried about how much it's gonna cost because I have the money and I worked hard for it and, regardless of the price, I've been planning on getting it anyway, be it $200 or $1,000. Seriously.
So, yeah, just gonna wait it out 'cause, come on, we all know that there really isn't gonna be much of a shortage of RB bundles; there isn't one with GH3. I could probably get away with not reserving it at all.

You don't need the card to get the bonus but if you have it you get another 10%. In other words if you have the card you get 40% extra. I traded in Halo 3 for 49$ towards Rock Band and I thing that Orange box MAY follow on the 10th.
