Harmonix faced difficulty in making the Xbox 360 guitar wireless, as developers are charged a licensing fee to use Microsoft's wireless technology. If Harmonix chose to pay the fee, the two next-generation bundles of Rock Band would have sold at different price points. Instead, Harmonix elected to chose a wired technology for the Xbox 360 bundle's guitar.

Blame Micro$oft. It costs extra to use their proprietary technology. Why do you think most, if not all wireless products for the 360 are M$oft? HMX made a choice: make the next gen bundles equal price or equal parts. They couldn't do both. Personally, I don't see the big deal, but I know other people do. I mean the drums gonna be wired, and the mic (if you use the real one). What's 1 more wire? but I know other people feel differently.
