So there is no online BWT? When/where was this announced? Because that is very dissapointing. Is there any game modes where I could play the drums w/ a guitarist and singer online?

No online BWT, been knowing that for awhile, actually.
Don't worry, though, there will still be online quickplay with full band whether you want to have all 4 members or just 3.
So technically you can still "have a band" but you know, not an official one.

2 weeks or so ago a thread was discussing BWT and Sean broke the news that it was offline only. I'll try to find that thread.
A patch is in the works though.

Is that official or just a guess? From what i've seen so far no mention of a patch or if it will be in RB2 has been stated. More than likely if it's not confirmed I don't see a patch for it coming out, As for RB2 that's a different story.

Ok good, online quickplay will have to do then.
Hopefully they come up with that patch though.

Yeah it's official. They're still working on it. Sean, DanT, and Alex (I think) all confirmed it.

Did they say anything about patching in a single player WT?

That'd be extremely nice if they get the patch out, hell even if it wasn't until Feb of next year. I could wait.

Important to note that they *want* to be able to add that feature in later, not that they *are* going to add it in. I know you know that, just restating for clarity since the way you said it made it sound like it was definitely going to happen.

Ouch, very very lame. Online BWT is probably one of the features I was looking forward to the most. GH3 already dissapointed with no online co-op campaign and now this? Bleh.

Well that's somewhat relieving although I'm always wary about developers promising updated content in the future. Many times those promises slip through the cracks.

My guess is if they found a way to make it work we wouldn't see it until mid-08 at the earliest.
If we don't see/hear anything by late-08 it's a dead idea.

If it goes as late as mid 08, my moneys going on Rock Band 2. With online BWT and a cowbell for the drum kit.
