Okay, lets assume that £1 is $2 to make it easy for all of us on both sides of the Atlantic. How much are you willing to pay, in either Dollars or Pounds Sterling for Rock Band assuming you will get all four peripherals?

Im thinking if GH2 was £70 in the UK, with one GH, lets assume it was even stevens £35 for the game and £35 for the Guitar. So one game £35 and two guitars £70 is £105. Now throw in a Mic and the elusive drum peripheral. okay TOPS £15 for the mic means £130 (although any more than a tenner (ten pounds to the yanks) for the Mic is a rip off.

So to the drum peripheral, if its crap then £20 but i would pay up to £50 if it was a decent bit of kit (not a bongo arrangement either) so I guess, assuming the drum peripheral is a quality bit of kit that I am in for £180 ($360)

As I have a guitar from GH2, then I am looking at just under £150 in reality.

What say you?

I live in Canada, but 225 american would be very fair for a full set. Pretty much give the game for free if they are going to buy all the instruments, i say.:)

Game: $49.99

The game was only forty twice in a row. There will be more meat on it, but going multiplatform from the get go means they can charge less for the software.

Standalone Guitar: $49.99

The reason the guitar is going to be so much more this go around is because it isn't just a plastic toy, it's an authentic Strat replica.

Standalone Mic: $29.99

The microphone is going to have to be decent. Nothing amazing, but it'll have to be able to pick up unique consonant and vowel sounds accurately, so a big cheapy just won't do.

Standalone Drums: $69.99

Drums are bigger than the guitar, and though the shapes aren't as intricate, it is a lot of metal and plastic they're casting.

Standard Guitar Bundle: $89.99
Standard Mic Bundle: $69.99
Standard Drum Bundle: $109.99

Game was forty and guitar was forty, but together they were seventy. Hence, a ten dollar drop.

Rock Band-In-A-Box: $179.99

One guitar, one mic, one drumset. Twenty dollar discount.

Rock Band-In-A-Box Plus: $219.99

Same deal but with two guitars. Thirty dollar discount. Maybe toss in a shirt that will mark you forever as someone who bought the most expensive vidja game since Steel Battalion.

It doesnt HAVE to be $59.99 so you know, I'm sure it will be but there isn't any sort of rule that states all games must cost $59.99

Anyways.

$200 if it comes with

Game disc
Two wireless guitars
Drum set
Mic

I'm sure the two guitars is a pipe dream though.

Sixty dollars is usually only for larger budget games. While I'm not saying this game is cheap, most of the development costs go to creating the instruments and getting the licensing for the songs.

And again, GH and GH2 were 40.

Realistically speaking and taking into consideration the prices for similar pheripherals I'll say this....

Guitar: 70$
Drums: 100$
Mic: 40$
Game: 60$

The xplorer is 60$ and thats without the quality and extra features of the Rock Band Strat.
The Drums are big and are gonna take one hell of a beating these have to be quality and for a prepheral that size I'd say 100$
The mic is going to be higher quality then the headset which I believe is 30$ and good quality micrphone is not cheap. 40$ seems reasonable.
Game is the standard 60$ without a peripheral.

It sounds expensive but I dont think its meant for everyone to buy every piece. Its meant for a few buddies playing online and getting together bringing their insturments together. I dont get why people are afraid of the price. Its just offering us MORE choices at a price.

I don't know about anyone else, but I kind of want all the peripherals, when I go online, I want to be able to fill any role that is free, rather than sitting around waiting for a drummer or guitar spot.

On a side note, I read somewhere the guitars will be wireless, what about the drums and Mic?

It is meant for one person to get one thing, but that still doesn't mean that it'll break 200 easily. People are really overshooting the drum prices, sure they're big and take a lot of pure material, but they aren't really that sophisticated. Most electronic sets are only so much because they have their own computers built in to actually make sounds when you hit the pads.

Taiko Drum Master was only about sixty dollars when it came out, and that drum was pretty tough. assuming the game was forty, that makes a single drum only twenty dollars, and the taiko drums had four different triggers in it instead of the assumed one in each pad for Rock Band. Multiply it by four and put in a small discount and you come up to around seventy or eighty dollars, like I said. The kick pedal really isn't anything expensive, it's pretty much a piece of metal with some form of recoil that hits a trigger in the controller. That, with the extra metal that comes with the stand compensates for the less sophisticated drums in bringing the price up.

So, again, in the seventy or eighty range for the drums alone is right.

The drumsticks will be made of solid mahogony, forcing users to pay $170 for the drumkit alone. It's true; a bloke down the pub who has a mate whose sister works at EBGames told me. ^_^

Well 170 would be overshooting I'm sure it would be worth the quality but its a pretty insane ammount for one peripheral. We're not talking Steel Battalion here. I want all the insturments too but I'm bieng logical and I'm willing to go 300 for a full set. Expensive yes but In my opinion worth it. Again I think its meant to be taken like guitar hero. Except now its that or drum hero or kareoke revolution you buy what you want most with an option to expand. Seems reasonable to me.

I don't want to spend any more than $250 Australia on this, so about $200 US would be ideal.

I'm with WW.

Besides most people are going to get this game with the guitar anyway, not many will venture with Drums and Mic.

I would rather have the entire set and be part of a few bands, maybe drums in one, sing in another...But I would have to quit my job and become a Rock Star full time...

And good point on the Mic/Drums. I sure HOPE they would make them wireless as well, but no one has said one way or another that ALL instruments would be wireless....

The mic and guitar will likely be, but there really isn't a need for the drums to be. They're stationary the entire time, so it's a waste of money to make them wireless.

game-$60
guitars-$40 each
drums-$40
Mic-$30

total bundle cost=$160-180 for game, mic, guitar and drum kit
IMO the bundle would sell for a total price of $160, but each instrument would cost more to buy indivualy($50 for a guitar, $50 for drums and $35 or so for a mic
