Cant seem to find it and I have been searching but way to many damn posts lately. Also says the n' in guns n' roses isnt a word so wouldnt let me find it. Just wondering what happened with the thread, the hmx guy, and any more news on the upcoming GnR album(s)?

No. The only GnR thing that's been announced is of course that song off of Chinese Democracy that's going to be on the RB2 disc.

I want to hear GnR news too. Want the Appetite for Destruction album.

Do you mean the thread with the video of an HMX guy talking about Shackler's revenge and an upcoming album schedule? Because it got completely deleted, so it's probably best to not go into detail.

For the curious: a guy cornered an HMX employee and used a hidden camera to capture what he said after specifying "off the record" and put the results on online. In short, he said Shackler's Revenge is neat but not as neat as old GNR and we'll get a bunch of albums, so nothing we haven't been hearing from EVERYONE IN THE WORLD. I'm not going to say anything else or post the video.

Also: I'm pretty sure no one, anywhere, has ever said Chinese Democracy is likely to be a DLC album. It might be neat to get it, depending on whether it's any good, but I'd bet against anything more then a pack unless they REALLY ramp up the production schedule. Like, weekly albums type of ramp up.

I'll tell you what happened... a nasty company-wide email probably went out warning people to keep their mouths shut.

Imagine what a blow it would be if GnR's agents/promoters got spooked by an information leak and pulled out of the deal? (Not entirely unreasonable they could get spooked after 10 years of speculation and secrecy behind the album)

That would be a serious blow in terms of credibility to the game launch and their reputation.

Until the ink is dry and the game is gold, secrecy is serious business.

Uh, I don't think freedom of speech was really at the front of that guy's mind when he was secretly videotaping the Harmonix employee.

And Apples, why don't you go ahead and lock this so that the information doesn't keeping getting passed around? I think that might be wise...

Your freedom of speech gets checked at the door when you agree to youtube's terms of service. It's their site, they can play by their rules.

It also gets checked at the door when you sign Non Disclosure Agreements with your employer.

Yeah, no.

A scumbag, cornered a HMX guy and had him talk "off the record" on a secret camera.
