Mark Knofler is one of the best finger pickers in rock music. Really though, pretty much any dire straits ong would translate well to this game. THough I would love to see Romeo and Juliet myself.

DLC will be fine. As long as the DLC works with RB2, which now seems inevitable with no online BWT.

I have been running around trying to get the 'Money For Nothing' vote, and didn't think there were any other Dire Straits folks out there.

^^ I agree ^^... Down to the Waterline is my favorite Dire Straits song and would fit very well into Rock Band, I would also like to mention Skateaway as a canidate along with all the other songs mentioned in this thread.

I'm all about the Making Movies album for me. Seriously.

Of course I like other DS, but that is easily my favorite album of theirs. Growing up in England in the 80's Brothers in Arms was just part of your essential sound track for much of that decade...but Making Movies stands the test of time more IMO.

My feeling is that "Money for Nothing" should be an on-disc song. Everyone knows it - it just makes the most sense.

In terms of a DLC pack if I'm not getting MM as a full album DLC?

I just never got on-board with "Walk of Life" as a good song for RB. Maybe they put it in the 3-pack because people know it. In that case I guess Skateaway drops off.

There was another thread on here about Dire Straits which I posted in but it seems to have gone AWOL.

Everytime I heard Sultans of Swing on the radio my first thought is "what a great song that would be for rock band" following closely by the second thought "oh crap, that guitar solo is going to kick my ass six ways to sunday".

The funny thing? I'm looking for a good ass-kicking.
