Local Rock Band Events?

After the success of GH2, a few local clubs replaced karaoke nights with Guitar Hero nights. I'm wondering how successful Rock Band would be as an attraction at bars and clubs. Would people be more likely to try something like Rock Band where they won't be the only one potentially humiliating themselves?
What about local Battle of the Bands competitions? Would you be willing to fork out an entrance fee to compete for prizes at a local venue (on stage, rock lighting and sound)?
I feel that most games tend to keep people at home and are not really a social thing, but something like Rock Band could be different.

the fact that this subject has been brought up a few times before makes it a very likely possibility that you will see rockband used in such a way...although im not sure how many places own gaming consoles. but i guess if they already have one for GH, then it should be all good.

I work for a radio station here in Seattle, and we're already planning on getting four 360's, each with a copy of RB to take out to events so that people can sit around & play the game. :)

Not quite the same as a bar night, but cool nonetheless!
