I'm really just hoping that us Limey's don't get royally done over by the second rock band game. I mean I know they had problems the first time around, but I'm hoping this time they can iron out the issues which caused there to be such a massive delay between US and UK release, and also, and probably more importantly for my poor student pocket, not have the game being twice the price of it's American counterpart.

I literally haven't been able to afford Rock Band yet, so I just hope Rock Band 2 brings me more joy and love so I can put Guitar Hero in the closet and join the true music-lovers.

I wouldn't hold your breath mate, its money that talks remember, Harmonix will do whats best for their pocket, not the customer.

They are in fact doing both.

That said, a software-only advance release is entirely possible.

Isn't that what the Yanks are getting? Solus a month earlier than the bundles?

We all hope so - it would be nice if HMX would acknowledge that.

I don't think the delay will be much shorter on RB2's UK release, because, as great as a 1 or 2 month delay would be between the US and international releases, it would mean that HMX would make the first game/ set of peripherals obsolete only a few months after its release. From a business standpoint, that's ridiculous and is never going to happen (After all, HMX and EA are businesses and need money.)
Rock Band 2 won't be released until all the maximum profit has been made on Rock Band, so I'm guessing that the delay between the US and international release will be at least 5 months, maybe more. As for the pricing, RB2's peripherals will be the same price as the first ones, if not more, and I dread to think how much the ION drums and Madcatz peripherals will cost :(

I really wish people saying money is the bottom line to Harmonix. Couldn't be farther from the truth, of all the companies in the world I actually believe them.

I don't normally want to say anything on these issues. I got rock band bundle shipped in december for PS3, and was very happy with it, no problems except broken whammy and not my strats whammy bar has gone completly. I hope Rock Band 1 or 2 comes out in UK soon for PS3 so I can get a replacement guitar and thats all I have to hope/say on the matter.
