RB2 songs on RB1 ?

Yes, I know it will be possible to play RB1 songs on RB2 but I want to know if it has been stated that the contrary will be possible ?


I understand that HMX/Viacom/MTV/EA would prefer to sell me a 70 € game with all the songs but I'd like to be able to pick the RB2 songs I want on the Store.

Because :

1) I'm european and I'm not too sure when I'll be able to play these new tracks North America will discover in September.

2) I recognize HMX does a great job with RB2 but I'm not very interested in the new features, I just want to continue with my old RB1 guitar and disc and enjoy the RB experience as a platform in itself ("make your own playlist").


So if HMX doesn't plan to let us download the RB2 tracks from day 1 (less people would go buy the complete game), I think it would be nice to include some of its songs every week as a bonus.

That won't happen, it defeats the whole purpose of having Rock Band 2.

All DLC will always work on RB1, but the disc songs on RB2 will not be able to be played in RB1. The 20 free DLC should work on RB1 though. Who knows though, a detail this fine has not really been discussed

I've bought FIFA 08 and I love it, it seems FIFA 09 will be even better but I don't think I'll spend again 70 € in a football game.


With Rock Band, there is the possibility to buy songs. That was something HMX was very proud about ("build your own game"). I want to continue to do that without missing a bunch of news songs.
