So you can wiggle your finger on a fret that's held and it changes the sounds it makes/makes it vibrate.

I've always wanted that. It would be pretty damn cool... and expensive.

As cool as that may be, I can't see them implementing it anytime soon. Besides, how would you even go about making that?

Make the frets pressure sensitive or something, or they pick up the vibrations, and change the note.

IDK if it'd be THAT hard, but possibly expensive.

The whammy bar already does that...

I think the new GH:WT guitar is going to be like that, with the part where you can slide your hand. I will look for proof, but i remember reading something about it.

EDIT -
The whammy bar already does that...

LMAO!

Not the same.

Whammy bar = lame.

It'd be better using your finger.

The problem is that a lot of guitarists already use vibrato. Adding on our own vibrato to that would turn it from a nuance to an annoyance. I like the idea though.

Im sorry man, but this borders on....."why not get a real guitar and rock out for real?"...good idea though.

What is so damn funny? Both things employ string bending. Why do we need 2 ways to string bend on a guitar controller?

I belive you can do that with the GH:WT guitar so its definitely possible. However it probally wont be till RB3 so if its a must for you then you know which game to get...

I bet Matt has a patent on it already. Now we just have to wait...

!!!

I wish. It would definitely be a cool little feature... it would be easier to get starpower on held note phases as well.

Good idea, but I'm fine with the whammy bar for now...

On a completely unrelated note, I'm playing Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past on my SNES right now and I just got the pendant of courage!!!! YAY!

WHO ARE YOU KIDDING.

Whammy bar sucks. It gets in the way on the Strat, and on my Xplorer, it sags for some reason from so much use.

Probably not a financially responsible choice for HMX or EA.

It's not in the way that much and mine sags on my strat too, but I don't mind much...

It wouldn't be hard to do, what it will do is make the guitars back fire and unreliable. People want a good solid Guitar experience, not new features to out-weigh the good they did. In theory, it's a good idea but outside of that it's rather pointless at the moment.

well it could maybe be a "premium" guitar. like those $200 Mad Catz guitars and bass's. those things should have that feature.

I liked the idea that the guy who made the custom bass guitars had. Where, instead of a whammy, you could bend notes. Plasticguitar vibrato, as someone else mentioned, would probably get pretty annoying when doubled up with vibrato in the song. But what do I know?

Maybe this is why people don't take too kindly to your ideas.

As for applying vibrato to a peace of plastic, ehm... I'm not sure it's very feasible. How would it recognize you're doing it, with some sort of rocker motion behind it? I think that'd make it very difficult to play quick stretches of notes if your fret buttons are wiggling all over.

If I could answer you with a quote from Coach Mcguirk from Home Movies:

"Because it's HARD! It's too hard... anything too hard in life is never worth doing, remember that!"
