I don't know about anyone else, but playing DRC at BB at two diff. locations it was giving me trouble with the guitar. I tried search on the forum but i didn't find anything related. I would play on even medium and i would strum down and int he beginning work fine...but then after 45 seconds of the song i couldn't strum down to hit the notes, i actually found that strumming up only worked. It happened at the Downers Grove and also the BB on BUtterfield rd. in Illinois. I mean I can play GH 1 & 2 on expert, so im not a n00b at this. And no other songs seem to give me trouble on the demo, anyone else have this problem?
P.S. Anyone notice how some notes are shorter lengthwise, kinda squished, than others? Anyone find out about this?

Those are hammer-on/pull-off notes.

I heard the guitars on the tour ended up having this same problem. People beat the hell out of the bar playing down with their thumb and it no longer works in that direction. It's just abuse of the instruments.

I find it hard to believe that the Best Buy demo is dead already... is that a sign of the longevitiy of the instruments?

Nope, sign that if you abuse anything hard enough it will break. My friend's SG worked fine until his little cousin played and pulled up on the whammy bar hard. Whammy never worked afterward.
Only takes one idiot to break something.

It's kind of a disapointment that this happens, but now I know for sure that if I make the huge bike ride up to one of these, it'l be there.
Thanks for the sort-of location confirmation.

There appears to be some kind of 60-day warranty on the hardware (see the Unboxing pics in the other thread). 60 days isn't that long but I have a feeling any major problems will show up sooner rather than later.

Very strange, I had heard previously from HMX that all of the instruments were covered under a 1-year warranty. I wonder what prompted the change of heart.

I dunno. I tried to log into the EA Rock Band support site (http://support.ea.com/rockband) but it says permission denied.

money and they know that we're going to act like idiots when we get the game
and there will be more of a chance the guitar will break...
i for one am a refined musician. i will be calm, cool, collected when i pick up rock band. there will be no rush to open the box.(sarcasm) even though i bought a ps3 just for RB, i keep checking best buy for the demo,
Harmonix cursed my brain, because songs i hear on the radio now, i see the imaginary note charts for singer, guitar, drumming and am singing with a imaginary mic in my hand as i drive down the road, or attempting to drum, or playing guitar on the solo buttons....
people that see me must be like, look at that wierdo !

Thanks for all the replies...i knew it had to be me or the guitar. The guitar would work fine for the rest of the songs, but every darn time i played DRC it seemed it would only accept upstrums...it was the weirdest thing.
One thing about the BB demo...right after I stopped playing these teenagers came over there, fresh into highschool it seemed, and the one guy was having trouble with the drums so he just started banging on them as hard as he could and threw the sticks (of course they were attched, but you see the point)...lol ahhh the meaning of respect right there!!
