i'm hoping for either hair metal or something totally out of left-field (shoegaze pack to prepare us for the lush track on rock band 2? maybe a goth/post-punk pack since we still don't have anything along those lines?).

Why don't they open the announcement thread now so we can have 100 pages of speculation before it's actually announced? This way we'll have to sift through it all to get to where people are actually talking about what's being released.

this coming week suck, at least there was a **** ton of who songs to get me through. I'm hoping next week at the very least it's NEW BANDS that dont have any tracks in either game... seriously, i love almost all the bands in the game right now, but variety is the spice of life, and how much rush, NIN, weezer, etc do you need?

surely its got to be an album? i recall a rush album was rumoured for this month, but i doubt we'd get that the same month as "closer to the heart." the only other album i can recall being rumoured is, of course, nevermind but clearly we won't get that at least until after RB2 has been released, seeings as "drain you" is on there. any other albums that have been rumoured that i have forgotten folks?

This! I doubt we'd get any Fleetwood Mac DLC (especially if it's from Rumours) until RB2 is released, though, as we wouldn't be able to complete the album 'til September. "Go Your Own Way" is on RB2's main setlist, for those who don't know.
My second predication: a goth/post-punk or rockabilly pack. None of these genres have any representation in RB thus far. Wasn't The Cure's "Just Like Heaven" on one of the two RB2 leaked lists? I'm hoping we see at least that song as DLC in the near-future.

2. Dr. Feelgood
3. Slice of Your Pie
4. Rattlesnake Shake

Paging HMX!! um guys you have a call on line 2, he says his name is Dr.Feelgood!! its in regards to your phone call earlier in the week about needing to kick start your heart.Pick up the phone because he says this wont happen without you and he doesn't want it to turn into the same ol' situation as before, also in regards to the DLC as of late he says its time for a change. Not to mention it would cause you guys to have an even bigger slice of your pie than you usually see with DLC.

Well... I am thinking that some classic Crue has to be coming down the pipe line since Rockband was nice enough to release some new unknown tracks. So why not an album.
We also have never gotten any more Beastie Boys.... so keeping with the 80s theme maybe License to Ill is in the works...

I'm not too picky. Queen would be great. Some Concrete Blond would be good, too. Joey would be fairly easy for everything but vocals, but it would be fun to play. Some Pearl Jam to get us in the mood for RB2 would be nice, too. Alive is sort of anthemic, but it isn't their best song.

Yes. I'd have a coronary (which would be pretty counter-productive, but I digress) if HMX put in anything off the Bloodletting album. I wouldn't mind any of their material, but I feel that record is their most consistent. Plus, many of the songs on Bloodletting could qualify as goth rock, one of the few genres that are completely missing from RB's setlist.

Yeah, and Concrete Blonde isn't too far from Tribe, and while there are fairly obvious reasons beyond the quality of the song that "Outside" made it into RB, they wouldn't have put it in there if they didn't think it was a strong enough song. I'll be honest, it's one of my favorites on the setlist and is definitely one of the ones I go back to.

I don't quite get the lack of newer songs from more mainstream bands.
They sell so well...and isn't that the goal of HMX? Or shouldn't it be?
I want the classic stuff as much as anyone, but the newer stuff is guaranteed to move by the casual, younger set.
Or is that too obvious a strategem?

I'd really dig a KISS pack already. Either them or some Queen finally. I mean, at least KISS has two songs available for RB so far(and I want more!), but come on, nothing from Queen? One of the greatest bands of all-time?

My dad wouldn't be so impressed... he likes the older Fleetwood Mac stuff better, Before Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks came along. Even Though it still had Mick Fleetwood and John McVie, he figures they probably should have changed the name of the band at that point since it was so different.

Considering mathematics, that would mean that Shinedown songs are really short for three of them to occur in a 5 minute period. It would also mean your radio might actually be a CD player with a Shinedown CD jammed into it.

IN fact Rush the band you Hate seems to have More gold records then Led Zeppelin,Metallica,Queen,Pink Floyd,The eagles , Journey and even AcDC. so obviously they are well liked..

Hmmm....no idea.
I'm guessing an epic album that will surprise everyone and make 99% of people grab for their wallets..
i think it'll be another mediocre week and yes kramm, you were wrong last week! My heart is still broken that we got no Nirvana yet.

Yea, I was wrong, I've been pretty upset about it since friday :(
They must be saving the pack for closer to RB2 :o
I was crushed that Kramm was wrong!!!! Damn, hope we see it soon. Anything rumored for The Cure besides Just Like Heaven?

Heard nothing else. But we didn't now about NINs Last either and that suddenly showed up in a pack together with the rumored Capital G and Burn.
So maybe they surprise us with a Cure pack? Would be the greatest thing ever.

Well... I am thinking that some classic Crue has to be coming down the pipe line since Rockband was nice enough to release some new unknown tracks. So why not an album.
We also have never gotten any more Beastie Boys.... so keeping with the 80s theme maybe License to Ill is in the works...
Beastie Boys Lisenced To Ill:
1. Rhymin & Stealin
2. The New Style
3. She's Crafty
4. Posse in Effect
5. Slow Ride
6. Girls
7. Fight for Your Right (to Party!)
8. No Sleep till Brooklyn
9. Paul Revere
10. Hold It Now, Hit It
11. Brass Monkey
12. Slow and Low
13. Time to Get Ill
:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D. It would never happen but I like it.

Sorry I've been out of town for a while with no internet so this might be a dumb question but what's the significance of 7/29?

It's the release date for next week's DLC. (This week's DLC has already been announced.)

Considering mathematics, that would mean that Shinedown songs are really short for three of them to occur in a 5 minute period. It would also mean your radio might actually be a CD player with a Shinedown CD jammed into it.
I was exaggerating, obviously, but they are fairly popular.

Queen
Journey
Def Leppard
Dont ever group Queen with journey and def leppard, 2 big 80's bands. Queen was a MUCH better 70's band than 80's

Need moar Nirvana, STP, Alice in Chains and Soundgarden
Although that Dr. Feelgood album would work almost as well. Hair bands seem to be in short supply. You can only play Wanted Dead or Alive 5-8 times a night before people start getting irritated with you.

My prediction? We won't see any DLC from now until RB2 of any bands that are on the disk of the next game.

that's probably a fairly solid prediction, and one i can get behind even if it costs me DLC from some bands i'd love to get more from (sonic youth, dinosaur jr, etc.)...
the only thing i could see coming on the horizon to knock it outta place is the possible rush album or maybe a nirvana "greatest hits" (not their actual "greatest hits", but a hand-picked one like we got for the who) album release.

Actually, after thinking about it a little more, I have to amend my prediction.
I don't think we'll see any DLC from bands on the RB2 disk that either weren't on the RB1 disk or only had one song on there. If there has been previous DLC for a band that is on the RB2 disk, then we may still see them.

Honestly i think EVERYONE here can agree that Led Zeppelin would be awesome and i'm no exception but i really don't think it's going to happen..
I don't think it'll be the Rush album as we just got Rush,
and i don't think it'll be Nirvana (just a hunch:rolleyes:),
I'd Like the Boston Pack 02: Don't Look Back
Amanda
Higher Power
Or The Offspring pack
but i Think we'll get a Rolling Stones 3-pack, no guess as to what songs though.
