I am buying the bundle for the PS3 on release day but after playing the demo at BB I found a small issue.

The bundle only comes with 1 guitar. Well I need 2 for my kids to play bass or friends to come over who dont' have a PS3.

I know it has been mentioned that we can use the GH3 guitar but what if I didn't buy GH3 because I would rather have RB? So how do I get a second guitar? I have 3 PS2 guitars but they aren't compatible with the PS3. I have also heard that the RB guitar will be available seperately but that wont be until Feb.

So what do I do in the mean time for the second guitar on the PS3 without buying GH3?

Side note:
Would it also be cool to have a Bass Guitar model that you could buy so it actually looks like you are playing a bass?

You don't have a lot of options. Your best bet is going to be buying an extra GH3 bundle and reselling the game disc on E-Bay.

There is a possibility that you can use one of these (http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/11/review-pelican-ps2-to-ps3-controller-adapter/) to plug an old PS2 guitar into your PS3. They work perfectly for GH1, and since Harmonix is using the open controller standards, it may work for your RB bass, at least until you can get your hands on another Strat.

Otherwise, keep your eyes on eBay.

A bass guitar would be great. I'm in a similar situation though. I did buy GHIII, but it SUCKS. Audio lag is fierce. Almost unplayable. I can play fine with the sound muted.

I'd take it back, but I'm keeping it for a 2nd guitar. If RB had individual instruments at release, I'd return GHIII.

the individual instruments will be open for sale sometime early next year, so either wait for that or buy GH3 controller/bundle.

As we saw in the unboxing photos the headstock is removable - it'd be pretty sweet if they just had a 4-string bass headstock for $7 or something.

Anyone know of any 3rd party controllers coming out before the end of the year? I've scheduled a rock party in early January that I'd love to have a couple guitars for.

Too bad X-Plorer won't work. I mean it's just USB.

Yeah I'm in the same boat as you. I want a second guitar but I really don't want to buy GH3. Let's hope Harmonix starts shipping individual guitars asap.

The guitars feel like basses already, they're so big.

You can just buy a PS2 guitar and an adapter for the PS3. I know some things don't completely work (ho/po's) with the adapter, but if you need a bass guitar right away this is going to be your cheapest option.

And how often on bass do you get finger blistering solos where you need to use ho/po's anyway?

That's my plan. I hope it works. The biggest complaint that the adapters had were the HO/PO problems, and I figured for something as easy as bass, it shouldn't be a problem.

I was thinking of doing this too, until it was announced that the GH3 Les Paul will work with RB. I've seen controllers for as low as 20 dollars and the adapter can't be more than 15. I think it'll work out for people who need a quick fix.

The only reason I bought GH3 was for the Les Paul guitar. Now I have a second guitar and a really exspensive coaster for my beloved canadian beer.

I assume you mean GH1 or 2 controllers, right? I have my original one from GH1 lying around, so I'll just need the adapter. I figure after the individual controllers come out in '08, I'll return the adapter, and put the money toward getting a 2nd Strat.

I'm generally pretty good with getting people to give me refunds, with or without a receipt. I must be charming. I bought a few PS3 games by purchasing copies of House MD on DVD from a local CD/DVD store, for $19, and then bringing them to BestBuy without a receipt, and getting the $49-59 in store credit.

What a coincidence, I'm watching Season 2 of House on DVD right now. But I rented them from Hollywood video. I've got the unlimited rental thing, so I've been blowing through some shows, I did about 5 or 6 of the good Simpson's seasons. I think I'll do The Sopranos next.

I've never seen an episode and kind of forgot about the show until everyone exploded after the series finale.
