The press releases and interviews seem to be worded very carefully. Only on-line multiplayer is ever mentioned.
My question is simple. Can four people in the same room play Rock Band together?
Seems like screen real estate is an issue not to mention physically crowding around a television that might be standard def and 27".
I hope some staffers can chime in on this.

From comments by dev/testers on this forum you'll definitely be able to play four people at once on one system.
I was wondering that too. How are you gonna pile a vocals list, drum list, and Guitar and bass tabs in one screen?

Well it's not like Freq/Amp where you can change tracks, so it would be pretty easy to do a split-screen 4-ways I would think.

Easy? Yes. Palatable? Maybe not. I'm not sure I'm interested in the traditional four screen split, though it may be a necessity. I can't help but wonder if a HUD resembling a stave might not be a better idea though, expanding the grid and delineating each instrument to a different sector as they join a song.

But, these aren't the things that I'd fret about honestly. I expect Harmonix to nail (relatively) little concerns such as these.

as I said before , really the only way I see this work(edit)*better is with a LAN*support/ connection. that way you can space out a bit.

I dont see why u couldnt get 4 players on the 1 screen. 2 Player GH used a split screen that u really only needed to watch the bottom half of, theres room for 2 more players up above.... maybe *ponders*
Yeah I don't see a problem with screen area. Guitar Hero used too little of the screen for notes imo, I'd like to have a longer draw distance. Oh and speemods so I can adjust the speed of the incoming notes :P
No devs or staff have chimed in on this. I'm still skeptical about why they specifically only mention on-line multi-player. A drum kit, 2 guitars, and a microphone might not be easy to get in front of a TV.

It seems too obvious to leave out, but I've been burned before for assuming features that aren't specifically stated.
