So I still have about $75 to pay off for my reserved copy. GameStop's additional 30% trade-in value deal is intriguing, but I need some help deciding what to trade-in.

At first I was going to trade-in Table Tennis, since I haven't touched it in months and have no plan to, but then I realized that the game was so cheap in the first place ($20), that the trade-in value, even with an additional 30%, would be chump change.

So then I considered Guitar Hero II (minus the Xplorer, of course. Gotta hang on to that for obvious reasons). I rarely play it anymore, and I've grown bored with all the songs. And honestly, I think that once I get my hands on Rock Band, there'll never be any going back to a GH game.

Do you guys agree/disagree? Think I'll regret not having GHII anymore?

Update: Just found I'd get $13 for GHII. Sounds about right.

I'd cry if I had to give up my GHII but I play mine alot (NOT TO MENTION PARTIES!!!).

Even an old GH2 is worth more than $13.

In general I don't trade in games because they seems to pay FAR less than what they sell them back for. I might make an exception here to liquidate my old games, especially the ones that have been replaced (old EA sports games, for example). I don't expect to get much money for them, I'll just let GS take them off my hands.

13 bucks is not worth giving up GH2. If it was a steeper discount, MAYBE, but otherwise it's just an attempt by those overblown cash-hungry pawn shops -- I'm sorry, "game retailers" -- to get a product they can resell at 100% markup.

Don't feed the beast. Just go mow a lawn or something to split the difference.

Hold onto your GHII, you'll never know when you'll be in the mood to play a certain song or two.

I recently traded in about 15-20 Ps2 games, and 3 xbox 360 games. So I got around $100. Yea that's right :D Unfortunately though, I did this back in the summer. I should have held onto them for this deal :(

Oh well, but anyway...I had a HUGE selection of games, I traded everything in except for Guitar Hero II (ps2), GHII (Xbox360) and GH: Rock the 80's. I've gone back to Rock the 80's and of course GHII on Xbox plenty of times now. I know I'll want to keep em around.

A lot of the games I gave up were 1-player story adventure type games, and old sports games. If you really know you're not going to play NBA Live '04, you might as well trade it in lol Even though you only get about $2, oh well, every penny counts!

I would never give my copies of GH. I've got all four and plan on keeping it that way.

I love trading in games. I'm always pretty strapped for cash as it is, and I rarely have enough money to buy new games, so it's nice to be able to get some easy cash solely for that reason. In fact, today I'm going in to trade in my Wii (cause there are NO games for it), three Wii games, and Guitar Hero III for PS3 (because it, well, pretty much sucked, in my opinion, so if I want to play it in the future I'll rent it). All of those together will be enough to net me Rock Band and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, and I probably won't have to pay a dime! Well, aside from what I originally spent on those other things, but that was a while ago.

Wow, trading in a Wii and GHIII already? You know what? Pack your Wii with some games, then sell it on eBay, you'll get a nice price for it.

Yeah, GameStop's trade-in values seem like they just keep getting lower and lower. I'd hang on to GH2 and just cover the last part with cash.

Don't ebay, Craigslist it. Demand is on the up and up because of the holidays and you don't need ebay, not to mention Paypal, taking a big chunk out of your change. I Craigslist my Wii back in the summer and I got $300 for the system plus some games and an extra controller. Obviously not a profit, but not bad for a used system with used games.
