I know, I have already opened a similar thread like this, but I hope with this thread title Harmonix finally notice this thread and maybe give me an answer!
So, dear Harmonix,
I know, Rockband will only be released in the US this November, everyone else still has to wait until... someday next year, who knows exactly.
Many Hardcore fans, like me, can't wait until "who knows". I'm going to import the game but what I'm really worried about is the DLC.
You said you will release new songs every week after the release of the game. I guess you will only release those songs in the US PSN Store and XBL Marketplace. And although I have access to the US PSN Store, my creditcard doesn't work there, unfortunately.
So, please, I beg you, release the songs on every Store, not only the US Store!! I mean, I'm going to have tears in my eyes when I see those probably awesome songs in the US Store but won't be able to buy them!!
It can't be too complicate to release the songs on every store, can it?
I know that some companies may not like it when people import their games, but please, do us longtime fans and supporters that little favor... :(

Actually I just read the EDGE article (finally landed in The States) and it sounded like things were going to be very region specific, from the beginning set list to DLC. In other words, I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Wow. That would suck.
As far as I know HMX said that the main setlist for the game won't change and will be the same in every region, only the Bonus songs may change or have additional region specific songs.
Don't know about DLC though. But it would suck if we get different DLC. I'm okay with getting additional german songs, but I don't want to miss out the songs that the US will get. If they get the Cure and we not, my time as a HMX fan will be over.

it's unfortunate, but i dont know how much say a developer has in what content will go in the store in different regions. im still confused as to why the demos dont all come out at the same time in different countries, unless it's a game that will be released much earlier in japan before we see it in the US.

I even don't get it why full games come out here later. (I'll understand it with Rockband though, since a lot of peripherals have to be produced)
The only reason I can think of why for example the german store doesn't get all the demos, is that some games are too violent like Dead Rising or The Darkness, which either never have been released there or came out with extreme cuts. (No blood, less violence etc.)

Hm, as far as i understood the songs in the game itself will be the same. But the DLC will be region specific.
I have read about it somewhere in the internet...
But i still hope that we also get the songs which will be released for the US.

Yeah, I would like to hear an official statement by HMX. I'm sure they have already decided if they release the DLC only in the US after the US release or worldwide. And unfortunately I think they will release it in the US only... :(

Localization, translation, optimization for TV standards, production? :p

They're not going to put up DLC for a game that hasn't been released in that region yet. That would be ******ed. The best you can hope for is that they put all the DLC that has been released on the US store, up to the point the game is released in Europe, on the German store the day the game is released there.

That's no reason. Why can some companies manage to release games everywhere at the same time and others not? Mass Effect e.g. comes out almost simultaneously everywhere and that game has a huge amount of voice over and text that has to be localized.
So.
@Bob: I understand this point. I still hope they may release it everywhere since they don't have to release the Content later then. I mean, it would suck if we are behind the US then all the time, even with DLC, since the game was released here way sooner....

I'm gonna be a little ignorant, not read the whole thread, and question how can this be done without a simultaneous product launch?

Why should this be impossible? I know, it's probably nothing more than a wish by a fan who's gonna import the game, but why should'nt they release the content everywhere? It would'nt hurt anyone. I mean, yeah, probably just a few people who have imported the game may buy it from the EU store, but at least they have the content ready when the game is released here.
Argh.... I know... I should give up hope... :(

Main reasons for a delay to other regions are peripheral manufacturing and the licensing of the songs. Its similar to how itunes is different in different regions. When they license a song it can just be for one region. This happens because alot of the time an artist is released on a different label in a different country. I know how you feel though i lived in australia until 4 years ago.
