Ok, so, first off...Rock Band is amazing all in its own; the graphics, overall layout, and playability...the whole 9 yards. Everything ran so fluid and smoothly, I questioned my own existence. When you play the demo you choose your "weapon" and you get a character randomly generated. After so, you get to choose one of like...(12??? Correct me on the right number) of songs. Then once you have a mass-debate over which song you want to play, you then get one more loading screen before show time.
I got to snag the Fender Strat for a little bit. I must tell you, I think I wet my undies when I slung the guitar around me. It was epic...this guitar is sleek, sexy, and most importantly, comforatble. I dunno who all was sayin that they had a hard time adjusting to the guitar at first...I felt right at home with this sucker. I just took one ganger at where the buttons where and I immediately jumped into the song rockin out. Though its light in weight, the Strat. plays like a wet dream, and yes I said "wet". The strum bar is absolutely smooth when you strum, no clicking at all, just pure silence from that region of the guitar. The whammy bar is bigger and in good reach for when you need it. The TV we played on was too small to really hear much considering we had a guy next to us jamming on GH3, so I didnt bother messing with the effect switch, but I knew it was there and equally just as sexy as the guitar itself. At the end of our first song we got a jam session before the song ended...and away to the solo buttons I went. I just jammed out like my fingers were on fire, and it was orgasmic. The buttons on the Strat. are a little "crunchier" than the Xplorer buttons, but it makes sense that they did this since the buttons are inlayed with the fret board, so you know you actually hit the button. It works, trust me.
I gave up the Strat and switched over to the Xplorer they had set up for the other guitarist. This is where I did Expert (I played on Hard on the Strat.) Heres the deal with Expert and those who were concerned about the difficulty level. In Rock Band...Hard is Medium and Expert is Hard. Expert is pretty freakin easy if you can do Hard. Heres the catch, the game is far less forgiving about note missing, AKA, you fail out a lot quicker. I failed out once the entire time I played (you get three strikes, your other band mates can rescue you). So there is a bit of a catch to having easier Expert mode.
All in all, this game is amazing, and I will make fun of you if you are foolish enough to pass on Rock Band (for some unholy reason). Rock Band deserves 5 out of 5 or 10 out of 10 whoever rates the games. Again, the guy on drums didnt give em up so I didnt get to play on those, but I will say that they look equally fun to any of the other instruments.
